This dialogue I think shows how much KT actually respects her, she didnt disown him at hsi most vulnerable, and no one actually has the strength to stay, its much harder, and KT acknowledges that. Poor Preeti thinks he is faking it, when in actuality, he laid down his heart at her feet in that moment.

The irony is, one woman thought she would win him back when he lost himself to another, long ago.
