Yes, the camera work was exceptional, and as you pointed out, they kept switching between V and P, him fighting to get to the picture, her reaction to that, him trying to put out the fire, her reaction, him picking up the portrait and it burning his hand and falling and her horrified face, and then outside while he was running his hands over the painting she took a step back and the wiping off soot scene too, added a lot of depth and beauty to the scenes.
Looking forward to V as a painter, and P seeing that side of him as well as discovering his pain and vulnerability. Till now she hasn't seen that side of him, so it will be interesting to see how she reacts and what she thinks of it.
