I am fine, thanks, Jaya. Sidharth’s tweet surely wasn’t insulting, and it was even funny and maybe even self-deprecating, but that is not the point. Would you speak to your enemy or those who speak ill of you, let alone joke with them? Not unless seriously necessary, or are we to take that Sidharth is on good terms with them to honour them with a tweet at all? Maybe we misunderstand the relationship between them- is that it? Nahi na. So, I would agree with Rati, that it is best to be indifferent to those who don’t deserve your positive or negative attention unless one is prepared to receive an undesirable repartee. Anyway, that is the way I operate in real life- I completely avoid those who are not my well-wishers.
In Malayalam, we have the perfectly equivalent idiom to this scenario: Vadi koduthu adi vaangikya. That is, give someone a stick and receive a beating 😕😆
