To draw an analogy, there are some authors like Chetan Bhagat who write average but earn in crores. And there are authors like Amitava Ghosh, Vikram Seth, etc who write top quality literature but earn relatively less...but they arent poor either.

Ab iss mein artist ke upar depend karta hain...ki woh kis cheez ko priority deta hain. To each his own.

Not saying money is not important. But for a creative person money is not the first priority mostly. An artist can't sit lazily untill he is satisfied with his art. & it's quite difficult to convince an artist. They in fact never get satisfaction which they always search for.
