Also contracts get renewed every so often, so the clauses can be changed in a contract by the channel on each renewal, so a channel can renew a contract with an actor and if they want they can add a clause of exclusivity for the faces/ leads of their show (meaning they can only work exclusively with that channel only during the course of the contract being in place), or add a clause permitting an actor to be able to work on another channel, especially if it is an actor who doesn't have as much screen time as a lead actor usually does or who isn't the direct face of the show.

Preeran are the face of the show and the other actors do not the same level of screen time as preeran does, so that's why the other actors most likely don't have an exclusivity clause in their contracts.

I think manit probably did have exclusivity clause in his contract at first and even anjum, but with time as the show has changed in terms of story and whom is getting more screen time and with each passing year the contracts needing renewal, the channel must have decided to change the clauses in manit's contract. Also an actor can debate clauses in contracts before signing and can offer the channel alternative arrangements and proposals too if they have the leverage to do so, but once a contract is signed they have no choice but to stick to those clauses.

I have heard on ITV contracts are often up for renewal after just 6 months, depending on duration of the contract, and most of the times a contract runs out after 1 year for an actor. All contracts are not equally created.

I understand the situation a little better.

But not including the lead couple is frankly ridiculous.

There could be other ways to solve this. And privately also. Not making a whole mess like this.

I get you dear! It's frustrating for fans, but I'm not gonna lie and say I don't understand where the channel is coming from. TV is a cut-throat business where every channel wants to protect their brand, and not only zeetv, other channels would also be angry at their lead actor if they worked on a show on another channel especially when they are under a contract with the channel they are a lead on. We have no idea what clauses are in dheeraj's contract with the channel to understand fully why the channel is miffed with him. If dheeraj had the exclusivity clause in his contract which almost every lead actor signs with a channel, then dheeraj would have broke his contract by being in naagin. But yeah I do believe they are being petty as hell about not tagging him in posts. They already show dheeraj's face in their posts, so why not just tag him? Odd!
