True!! No other era can beat the music, lyrics and vocals of 50s and 60s. Those songs are very close to my heart!

My dad introduced these awesome songs and movies to me in early 90s when I was just 10 -11 years old and there is no looking back :)

I am also a big fan of Jane Austen and P&P! And Colin Firth is the best Darcy IMO :)

Yes! Colin Firth embodied book!Darcy and I've noticed that usually those who've read P&P prefer his portrayal!

Bachpan ki Mohabbat and Mohe bhool gaye Saawariya : This entire soundtrack is very dear to me for personal reasons, but even otherwise Naushad's music is just exemplary!

Aaja re ab mera dil pukara: My favorite from the movie though is "Ye Shaam ki tanhaiyaan"

Ye Duniya agar, Jaane woh kaise, Jinhe naaz hai hind par: SDB, Sahir and the 2 Rafi ones! ❤️ Cynicism and despair as only Sahir can do!

Tum mujhe bhool bhi jao: Wow! What lyrics! Truly Sahir! ❤️

Seene mein sulagte hain: The tune, the lyrics, Talat, Lata, DK, Madhubala- just everything. The most poignantly heart-breaking song! ❤️😭

Shaam-e-gham ki kasam: Talat at his finest, the tune by Khayyam, a beautiful song of waiting..❤️

Ye zindagi usi ki hai: TBh, I used to prefer the happy version of this song, but CR has been so clever with the antaras they're almost like different songs. And the final 'alvida' is heart-rending.

Mohabbat ki jhooti: Everything about this movie is just ❤️, but my fav song is "Khuda nigehbaan"😭

Chahoonga main tujhe: I just put this down because I wanted to post my fav song from Dosti: "Mera toh joh bhi kadam hai" It brings tears. Rafi is sublime.😭

Something about this song is so poignant, so haunting- it tugs at the heartstrings...what a lovely tune by Hemantda and beautifully rendered by Lataji.❤️
