You got it right, he didn’t want Pav’s ehsaan and did not count on Jaan getting so mad at him that the entire house would get involved. This is why he kept asking Rahul point blank who do you want, okay let’s say he wants Jasmine as he said, he can’t take you out on a technicality if you don’t screw up. Secondly that way even Kavita could have given up and left the game but she fought and Nikki defended her.

Point of the matter is he thought Rahul would totally blindly support Jasmine but that didn’t happen now. He didn’t want to look bad and attack Jasmine who puts him down 24/7 because he would lose Rubina. His lies or Pavitra’s lies (who knows) were exposed through Aly isiliye chilla raha tha and blaming Rahul when really he never wanted to play once Pavitra was his chosen rep.

Exactly. Now he will be the villain to choose between two friends and if he chose Jasmine people would put him down. As it stands Rubina fans are against Jasmine now, isne actually Rahul ko help kar di to an extent kyunki ab choosing Kavita means people will know he is not controlled by Aly, he went against Jasmine and Kavita is getting support on SM. If he made that same effort to make others get up from the box tab kehte lekin mahaan banna hai.
