On the very first episode,
orphaned Riddhima expresses a wish
to her best friend Sejal.
I want to marry a simple guy with a simple life. Someone with whom I can lead a peaceful, non-complicated, non-adventurous life.
For this reason,
she has chosen a PT teacher, much to her bff's chagrin.
A simple, loving n bhola bhala Kabir.
Hoping to begin this new life, she proposes to her man.
But...the guy confesses he is a CBI agent. 😳
A baffled Riddhima stands listening.
If that isn't enough, the guy wants her to become a spy to nab some high profile mafia don.
Riddhima! Silly, Riddhima!
Swimming in her ocean of immature love,
she agrees to fulfil this outrageous request.
Cut to episode 15,
Riddhima is standing at the hall of the colossal VR mansion, her eyes brimming with tears.
The mafia don VR...aka Vansh Raisinghania has given her an order.
Teen din mein tum meri patni banni wali ho.
Riddhima is flabbergasted. For the second time.
Before she can realize, the criminal becomes her husband in epi 24.
And for the next 25+ episodes, she goes through constant turmoil and threats (sometimes due to her own stupidity) that eventually lead to intense mental torture (post epi 45) where at every step she is indirectly threatened to be killed.
Cut to epi 57. Situation changes.
Mafia hubby turns from Ravana to Ram overnight and Kabir turns out to be the real kameena.
He is a greedy cop who wants to usurp Vansh's property and murders people like it is his past time. 😆
Koi nahi!
Post epi-57,
hubby comes closer and Kabir drifts away.
Hubby drapes her sari, ☺️
applies dawai at the drop of a hat 😳
and even stares into her eyes in trip-and-fall scenes,
swaying to the title track.😆
But just when things begin to look better for Riddhima, cut to epi 83.
Hubby's mental fuse snaps for unexplained reasons 🤔
and he swaps back to his mafia form.
This Ravana-Ram-Ravana-Ram switching goes on for sometime, until at last, Riddhima reconciles with her fate. 😵
Slowly, hubby cools down.
And he comes back to his Ram avatar...
but just then...cut to epi 112.
Hubby jumps off the cliff in Dhoom 2 style, leaving Riddhima devastated with that useless lapel scarf.
But the story doesn't end there.
Sunne mein aaya hain, there is a guy called Vihaan somewhere in Mumbai. He looks just like Vansh, is a con-artist and number 1 tharki. He has found out about VR's death and is planning to enter the mansion to con Vansh's family.
He, just like Vansh, has taken a fancy for Riddhima, (despite looking at her photo with that red sari and ugly glossy makeup.)
Now whether Vihaan is Vansh himself or not, that CVs will decide later based on TRPs. But for now...it seems...
After dealing with
a greedy CBI agent,
a mafia don,
now Riddhima's life will be graced by a con-artist.
So much for her "simple" life.
