Chapter 18

Paridhi sat down on the bed, “ Great their 1st fight in this life" she thought. “sounded kind of cheesy but. Now what should she do to cool him down.” She thought. She looked at the clothes she had goten out. Then smiled to her self, “ let us see how long he could stay away.”smiling in a sly manner, she put back the clothes she had taken out and took out a pair of skinny jeans and a bottle green low cut v neck sleeveless top. She left her hair open and wore her boots , she made up her eyes in a smoky eye shadow and wore crimson lipstik. “ Toh Sahanshah ab dekhten hai kitni der aap humse rusth rehte hai.” She winked at the image at the mirror and picked up her bag pack smiling and went down to the dining room.

Rajat was pretty miffed. He would get his revange alright he would make her come to him. But then he thought he would also have to keep his lookout as well. Suddenly his eyes went to the entrance of the huge dining room. He felt like all the wind had been blown out of her stomach. “ Holy s***. Margaya .” he thought looking at Paridhi who had just made her entrance. What the hell she is dressed to kill. He had never seen anyone sexier before. How the hell would he keep his hand to him self and stay angry? Paridhi felt his eyes on her but did not look at him. She went straight to where her boudi was having breakfast. Sge took her breakfast and then turned to him. He looked away, she smiled and went and sat at the table next to his, she ignored him “ boudi where is dada?” She asked her “He is on the phone giving directions to Dr Srivastav. By the way is something wrong? Why is you hero sulking?” Piyali asked. Paridhi looked at Rajat, who looked away again at the nick of the moment, she decided to tell the truth, Piyali was her childhood friend after all. “ Your fault.” She said shooting daggers at her boudi, “ My fault how come?”she asked. “ You interrupted.” She said biting on her food. Piyali was a little confused at first. Then it dawned on her, “ Oh so in the morning....” She pulled her ear “ You little liar.” Then she laughed with her. “ Tadapne de thoda sa.” She said. “ But whats the use he is not even looking at me na.” Paridhi said sulking. Piyali thought for some time, “ I have a brilliant idea!” She said giving a sly smile “ And what may I ask is your hair brain idea. Don’t get me into trouble like before.” Paridhi said. “ Dr Srivastav is very handsome too.” She answered. Paridhi looked at her for a moment and smiled.

Partha walked in after sone time. Everyone had gathered at one table now. “ It will take him about two hours now. He has a conference, after that he will be here.” Partha said. “ Ok so Paridhi why dont you continue reading. “ said Dr Bashak. Paridhi took out the journal.

Humara hriday jor se dhadk raha tha. “ kehna to unhe bahut kuch tha par. Par unhone kuch kaha nahi. Kadachit woh aap se hi baat karna chahte the.”Maan Singh ne kaha. Main sharm se lal ho gayi.”

Paridhi looked at Rajat who was looking at her with a little anger in his eyes.she looked down and smiled. Then read on.

“ Hum Agra pahuch gaye. Humare swagat keliye Shahanshah ne bhawaya intezam kiyatha. Dwar par Ammijaan , Rahim aur Saleema begum ke saath pura harem upasthit tha. Par meri nazre bas unhi ko dhundh rahi thi. Saleema begum dawar se hat kar raasta diya to samne weh khare the. Unhe dekh ke maano ankhe bhar aayi. I had been waiting to hear this for a whole year . I smiled almost laughed I picked her up in my arms and twirled her around. Then put her down “Hum bhi aapse beintehaa mohabbat kartein hai. Nahi jee saktein aapke bina.”Rajat said all this looking at Paridhi, his eyes had softened for a moment. Paridhi read on as everyone listened on.

“ Unhone mujhe aapni baaho mein bhar liya aur ghumane lage, phir humein niche utara aur muskurate huye kaha “Hum bhi aapse beintehaa mohabbat kartein hai. Nahi jee saktein aapke bina” unhone hume apne paas khinch liya aur humne unke sine pe apna sar rakha. Sare janaha ki shanti humein mil gayi. Unhone humein apne bahon mein utha liya aur apne kaksh ke taraf chal diye. Humne laaj se apna muh unke chati mein chupaliya.

She looked at Rajat with pleading eyes, but Rajat was still angry just then she looked at the door seeing the person at the door her face lit up. Her brother turned around to see Dr Srivastav standing at the door. “ Ravi... welcome.”he said going to shake his friend’s hand. “ Ravi... !”Paridhi exclaimed and ran to the door. Rajat was shocked he looked towards the door to see a tall and handsome man standing at the door, he felt a pinch of jealousy, he stood up in his place. “ Dada why didn’t you tell me that Dr Srivastav was our very own Ravi Srivastav !” Paridhi said hitting her brother playfully on his arm. “ Arre how many other Srivastav do I know?” he said laughing “And he told me not to tell you he wanted to surprise you.” Ravi pulled Paridhi’s hair “ Moti itni dubli kaise ho gayi.”he said “ Achi lag rahi hun na.” She said smiling. “ Very beautiful.” He gave her a friendly hug. Paridhi turn and looked at the rest. Dr Bashak and Prof Dixt came forward. Rajat stood back. His face showed that he was quite angry. Partha introduced everyone else. He looked around for Rajat, he was still standing near his table

“Arre Rajat come here.” Partha called him. “ This is Rajat Kapoor, Pari's would be.” Partha introduced Rajat forced a smile on his face and shook hand. “ Have you eaten?” Piyali asked “not yet" said Ravi. Paridhi took his hand and escorted him to the buffet table. Rajat was standing near the table with glasses. Unknown to himself he was holding a glass very tight. Paridhi was busy talking to Ravi, but she was also aware that Rajat was fuming. Suddenly there was a sound of glass breaking everyone turned to see Rajat’s hand was bleeding he was looking at Paridhi. Paridhi was shocked he had tears in his eyes and his hand was bleeding profusely. “Rajat...!”she screamed and ran to him . He looked away then jerked his hand away from her. He looked at her as tears rolled down his eyes. “ Arre, I was ....” before she could answer Rajat turned and left. “ Rajat... Rajat!” Paridhi followed. “What happened?”Partha asked “Piyali looked at him in a guilty manner “ What did you do Piyali?” “Actually... “Piyali told Partha and the others everything “Aur tumne kaha ki use manane ke bajaye use jalaye, pagal ho kya. Kitni buri tarha se uska haat jakhmi hua hai. Aisi utpatang khayal kiyun aata hai Tumhe.”

Rajat was feeling like his heart was breaking... how could she do this. She knew very well that it would kill him still she did it. He looked at his hand. There was banging on the door “Rajat open the door... I'm sorry. I was just joking.” She said. “Please. Main sach mein mazak kar rahi thi. Tumjante ho na main aur kisi ki taraf dekhti bhi nahi. Woh to dada ke bachpan ke dost hai. Hum saalo baad mile hai isiliye bus usne gale lagaya. He is like my elder brother. Please. Main mar jaungi agar tum ruthe rahe to.” She said now she was crying too she sat down near the door “ I'm sorry... I really am” Paridhi said sobbing.

Rajat heard her crying, he came back to his senses. He ran to the door and opened it. Paridhi heard the lock and stood up. When Rajat opened the door his eyes were red. “I'm sorry... I was joking" she said in a tiny voice. Rajat pulled her in and closed the door the pushed her against the wall next to the door. He held her hand above her head. “Aap jaanti hai na main kisi aur ko aapko chute huye nahi dekh sakta phir bhi. Aap humse mohabbat nahi karti.” He said nuzzeling her cheeks with his nose. “yeh sach nahi hai,”she took his hand in her saw it had a deep cut. “aapne humari wajase apne aapko dard diya ... !”tears rolled down her eyes. She started banging her hand on the rough textured wall of the room. Rajat was surprised he ran to her and stopped her. “Nahi...!”Rajat pulled her to him “Agar aap humse rooth gaye. To hum apne aap ko khatam kar lenge.” Paridhi said. Both of them were crying. “I love you dont you know that. I just can’t see anyone else touching you.” Rajat said. Paridhi freed herself from Rajat and then went and called the reception. “Please send up the first aid kit.” She told them and then went and held Rajat’s hand and brought him to sit on the bed. She looked at his hand and looked at him tears hadn’t stopped falling from her eyes. “I'm sorry. Meri wajah se...”before she could finish. He put his finger on her lips. “Bas.” He said then with his good hand pulled her head towards his and captured her lips. It was a soft kiss at first, but Paridhi opened her mouth to let him in and they deepened the kiss Paridhi moaned out loud. Rajat pulled her closer. They broke apart for a breath, Paridhi rested her head on his chest. There was a knock on the door. Paridhi got up and opened it. She took the first aid kit from the boy. Then she closed the door and sat down and applied medicine on Rajat’s hand, then bandaged it. Then took it to her lips and kissed it and said “ Never ever hurt yourself again.” She said. Rajat shook his head in negetion and smiled. She rested her head on his chest.
