Seems like it’s the whole book. The chapters in this book are very short, some as short as 10 lines.

Katniss and Gale are too similar. They would not even last a month together. I cannot imagine Gale and Katniss genuinely being happy with each other at all. And, by the end of the trilogy, their friendship was also beyond repair. I honestly never really cared for Gale. He is so whiny. 🤔

Maybe I am just soft for mature and caring men but Peeta was a genuinely a good character. I am so glad you brought this point up- Peeta only seems perfect because the others' flaws were very visible. Like you said, his shades came to forefront by the end of the trilogy. He brings out the best version of Katniss. He makes her hopeful. She has a rigid outlook of life where every single thing is measured in a practical manner and Peeta's company makes her realize that life has more nuances than strictly right vs wrong.

Out of the trio, I love Peeta. I would die for him. I think I have made that quite clear. 😆 I like Katniss too. I rooted for her throughout the trilogy which honestly is rare for me as there would always come a time in book series I read where I just can't stand the protagonist.

Cinna and Finnick from the set of side characters. You have explained perfectly about Cinna. His designs played a MAJOR role in the rebellion. Like you said, he made the Mockingjay. His death was so brutal. And, Finnick. Ah, thinking about him makes me want to cry! I liked Haymitch too.

I liked Gale in the first book. From the second one, he (and their interactions) started to get weird. I liked Peeta and Katniss more by then, but Peeta was still ridiculously a "white" character. And I love grey characters more. They seem more realistic. And I got exactly that in the third one. Loved him there. And you're right there. Peeta does bring out the best in Katniss, and other people too. It showed in how he talked and formed teams and plans with the rest of the tributes.

Yes, Finnick's story was truly sad. I wished to see more of him and his story.

Oh yes...how did I miss Haymitch! He was wonderful from the beginning, but especially when he got more involved with the tributes.

But Cinna's still the best for me. 😆I haven't watched the films and for some reason, I keep picturing Jeff Goldblum as Cinna, in an attire that looks close to his Grandmaster role in MCU. Have you watched the films?

I agree. The book drags in between which could be really frustrating!

By the way, I feel reading the book prior is not gonna affect the enjoyment of watching the movie as both are quite different! It is a great movie but did not do a great job at the adaptation.

I am still unsure about whether I want to pick up the sequel or not. Are you going to read it for sure?

I read somewhere that Stephen King wasn’t a fan of the movie. I still want to watch it though.

The sequel doesn’t have great reviews; I think I’m going to give it a skip. I’ll assume the story ended where it did.

The next King book I’d like to read is Misery. Those who’ve liked it, rate it amongst their favourite Stephen King novels and those who didn’t, think it’s okay. It’s not a very long book so it shouldn’t be a problem to get through.

That’s a good amount. For some reason, I can never get comfortable reading if I’m not at home.
Self help books and non fiction are usually difficult to get through. That’s the reason I usually consume them in audiobook format.

Same here, they are my comfort genre as well.
You must read One of Us is Lying as soon as you can.

Since so many of you are in favour of reading Colleen Hoover books, I might just include one for next month’s book read along with another book.
