Currently on a festive getaway but I came to post just this so I'll make this quick.

Happy happy happiest birthday to the man who personifies Bollywood for me. The man without whom I wouldn't even be here.

THE Shah Rukh Khan.

Growing up I've idolized him, and as with most lessons learnt from adulthood I've come to realize idolizing anyone just takes away from their vulnerability as a human being and putting someone on a pedestal is stupid. So, I've accepted the man for all its faults, insecurities, and limits. He's still THE Shah Rukh Khan to me and will always be my heartthrob of the nineties.

The quintessential heartthrob of generations before and generations after. His magic is eternal. His charisma is magic. He is eternal in my heart.

Throughout the years, I have wished for his health and happiness above all and that remains my wish for him today as well.

From a thousands of philanthropic ventures to being the most articulate Bollywood can manage, he's truly one of a kind.

His life story is as inspiring and as daunting as one can imagine.

The true rags to riches story, the kind that probably makes Bombay the city of dreams as its touted as. Stories like this rarely happen.

Here's to Shah, destiny's favourite child and his unending magic. 💛
