Chapter 2

You can’t go back in time and start over again,

but you can aim for a new ending starting from now.

VR Mansion or I would say it is a Pandora’s Box. So many hidden secrets are there. The secrets that can destroy each person of this family; who it belongs to along with the person who tries to bring it out. However, right now, I'm at a place where I would be making sure everyone pays for what they did so that none of them ever plays with an innocent life ever again. They have no right to. Yes, I can go back and live my life forgetting everything, howbeit, I don't want another person to be part of their dirty games and be played by them due to the greed and ego carried by these people. Someone needs to teach them their limits and that is going to be me.

Ridhima steps into the VR Mansion and sees everyone is in their own world. Nothing much has changed since she left the house besides why would something be changed? Who is she? No one to them. Today she is back with a bounce and will never be stepped down by these people’s words or actions ever again. Today, at this moment, she is proud of herself. She is broken, but, not shattered she made sure she stands up on her feet back again. Two months for two months - she only knows how she was living with so much pain, and what she went through, what it took for her to get herself back together but it was necessary may be.

Ridhima: Dadi, I'm back! (With a smile)

Dadi was happy to see Ridhima back in the house. However, something was missing. The sweetheart-warming smile was there yet something was missing. Her eyes that held warmth; though had same warmness yet something was different they looked guarded. Dadi felt distant like Ridhima is there yet somehow has gone far away. The smiles on her lips were real, but it doesn't have the same brightness which they held earlier. Dadi couldn't pinpoint what it is hence asked.

Dadi: Bachche kya hua? tu itni bujhi bujhi si kyu lag rahi hai?

Riddhima: (Smilingly)Nothing dadi just tired.

Saying so Ridhima hugs dadi. Dadi returns the hug brushing off her thoughts.

Ishani: The Queen of the house is back. Look, what an entry she made just like a female lead of daily soap. As Ridhima is here, from today, just like usual daily soaps once again we are going to see the twist and turns, all troubles are going to come together for some weird reason, we would be facing issues and drama in the home. Two months we lived peacefully without her but looks like now entertainment is back with everyday new happenings.

Ridhima turned her face towards Ishani with a smile on her face. Ishani felt weird with there action rather lack of Riddhima’s usual reaction she got. That look on her face that Riddhima used to have whenever Ishani used to say such things was missing. Ishani saw the eyes of Ridhima. They were unreadable. Nada. Earlier she could see Ridhima’s emotions and turmoil in her eyes. Those eyes now held something or was it lacking something which Ishani never saw before wondered Ishani. She never saw those emotions on her brother's face too hence wasn’t able to recognize them.

Ridhima: Hello, Ishani. I am glad my absence brought you peace just like my isolation did for me. Peaceful indeed it was away from everything and everyone.

(Said Riddhima making everyone look at her and with a smile continued saying.)

I mean all green, away from all crowd and rush. It was peaceful and serene there away from everyday life. It was a good break quite eye-opening; some very much needed realizations about life and reality checks. I didn’t even realized how badly I needed one but glad it did happen whatever happened.

Ishani and Aryan rolled their eyes while Chanchal and Anupriya made their usual constipated faces.

Sia (teasingly): Arre wah bhabhi you have become quite philosophical. Seems like staying away from bhaiya and us did you pretty well.

Riddhima: Oh…you are so right Sia. You have no idea good it was staying away from here and you all.

Said Riddhima seriously with a genuine and serious look making everyone shocked then gave a teasing smirk to Sia. Making dadi and Sia smile, rest of the clan rolled their eyes while Vansh looked at her intensely with a frown and observed her with questioning eyes.

Vansh and everyone in the house heard the conversation. He can sense a change in Ridhima's attitude, the way she was carrying herself and how she is responding something was different but what was the question or is it just his overactive and overthinking mind?

Ignoring Sia and Riddhma’s conversation referring to Riddhima’s previous words Ishani smirks at her and says,

of course, it must have felt good in a familiar environment, place where we truly belong is always peaceful and comforting to be.

Riddhima: Indeed staying in the place where we truly belong does bring piece and these two months have made me realize where I truly belong.

Said Riddhima with a lost look in her eyes.

Dadi (with a smile and bit teasingly): And that place is here with us. Haina?

Said dadi looking and subtly indicating towards Vansh.

Ishani (smirking): Of course that place is VR Mansion dadi; right Riddhima? I mean all these luxuries and comfort. These two months must have been really tough no without any of this in that place in the middle of nowhere.

For a nanosecond, Ishani saw a glint in Riddhima’s eyes but before she could register it, it was gone. Brushing it off as her imagination Ishani looked at Riddhima.

Riddhima (Smiling): No Ishani you see I am quite a flexible and adjusting kind of a person. So it doesn’t matter to me whether I am in VR Mansion or a small cottage in a remote, unknown & backward village, in a castle or in the middle of a dessert. I’ll survive and I’ll manage. Though I’ll have except it was quite boring there I mean everyone was so grounded; no high headed arrogance of someone, no ego or childish stubbornness to put someone else down to fulfil their vain vanity and have a false sense of accomplishment. No superiority complex; no one to think someone as inferior to them in any way. Strangely everyone was nice, positive, kind and very much normal compassionate beings.

Said Riddhima who looked like remembering things and looking genuinely amazed by it teased Ishani making her furiously glare at her while Dadi and Sia chuckle and smile, Aryan looked here and there coughing trying to control his laugh, chachi laugh discretely, Anupriya smirk, Angre opens his mouth slightly and Vansh widening his eyes raise his eyebrows simultaneously. Looking at everyone feeling embarrassed Ishani walked away giving a last glare to Riddhima who gave her a huge sweet and innocent smile in return.

Dadi: Chal bacchche tu thak gayi hogi. Apne kamre mein ja fresh ho kar thoda aaram karle. Main tere liye kuch khane ko bhijwati hun.

Riddhima (Smiling): Okay dadi; thank you.

Saying so Riddhima started leaving while everyone else also dispersed for their hideouts. Walking towards her room seeing Vansh she stops in front of him. Both looked at each other lost in their thoughts had an eye lock.

Looking at them dadi stopped & came and stood beside Riddhima and said:

Tujhe pata hai Riddhima Vansh ne tujhe bahut miss kiya. Sabse tere hi bare main puch raha tha ki tu kahan gayi, kuch bataya nahin are yahan tak ki Angre ko bhi tere hospital bhej diya tere bare main pata lagane. Iska bas chalta na toh ye toh wohi aa jata tujhe dhundte dhundte.

Hearing dadi Vansh gave a tight smile with a nod while Riddhima who knew about Vansh’s deception and his sneaky ways to find about her whereabouts because of his suspicion & doubts on her and a strong desire to be in control of the game he was playing with her and Kabir by knowing everything and not love raising her eyebrows asking

really?? Well hello, husband guesses you missed me a lot.

With a smile, dadi leaves them alone and walks away.

Vansh: Oh actually you took me by surprise I wasn’t prepared with your sudden disappearance.

Riddhima (with a knowing smirk): Neither was I but often things happen which we don’t expect or are unprepared for but guess that is life. Full of surprises leaving us disoriented, clueless and at times shocking us; breaking us and changing us. Sometimes for better and some time for worse time will tell.

Vansh: What??

Asked Vansh who was left shocked and startled for a moment hearing her.

Riddhima (with a smile): I mean didn’t know I would be leaving until the last moment. But don’t worry here I am now and won’t leave you now.

Saying so Riddhima left for the room leaving Vansh behind wondering what was all that about.
