Chapter 13

Paridhi had called her brother as he was her best friend “ Dada I want you to convince ma and baba to come to Jaipur immediately.”she said hesitantly. “ Pari what do you have in mind.” Partha asked. “ Just know that I need you here. And also atlast I’ve found all the answers to my question which I’ve asked till date.” Paridhi said. “ Have you met someone Pari.” Partha questioned her. “ Maybe... “ she said smiling. “ Please convince mom and dad for me.” Paridhi said. “ it’s just been 3 to 4 days. Isn’t it fast.” Asked Partha. “ How many days did you take to decide about Boudi.” She asked “ Hmmm ....2 days.” Partha answered. “ Then... if we are fated to be together... we will not take much time to decide.”Paridhi said. “ You guies come down here you will understand.” She said. “ Ok I’ll convince them but why dont I come down first. As it is I have a few days leave pending in my job. And your bhabi was pestering me for a holiday. I think I'd like to meet the person who managed to crack a tough nut like you and steal your heart.” Partha said “ wow that would be great.” Paridhi sounded ecstatic . “ Let me know when your fflight is I’ll be at the airport. “ she said. “ Ok . Now go take rest.” Partha said.

As Paridhi kept the phone she heard the door bell. She got up and opened the door. Rajat stood leaning on the doorway. Paridhi cocked her hip to one side putting one hand on her hip. “ does your Proff know you are here?”she asked mocking anger. “ Hum Shahanshah e hind hai humein apne begum se milne se kisi ki izzazat ki jarurat nahi.” He said pushing her into the room. “ Abhi na to aap Shahanshah e hind hai na hi hum aapke begam. “ Paridhi said as he pulled her to him. “ Isliye Huzur apne aapko kabu mein rakhiye.” She said smiling. He pushed her to the wall. “ Sadiyon baad aapko bahon mein paya hai. Aab to kabu main rahna na mumkin hai.” Rajat said nuzzeling her neck. “ I spoke to my brother, he will be coming here in a day or so.” Paridhi said. “ hmmm... let’s just get married. It is becoming difficult to stay away from you.” Rajat said as he smashed his lips on hers. Paridhi was trying her best to stay sensible but as Rajat deepened the kiss she couldn’t help she responded in kind. Rajat pushed his ttongue into her mouth to start a duel with hers. They parted for breath, they looked at each other with passion that had been lying dormant for ages had woken up suddenly. “ Aapke bina abto saans lena bhi mushkil hai aur aap kaabu mein rahen ko keh rahe hai.” Rajat said breathing hard. He kissed the nape of her neck then bit her their. He picked her up in his arms and laid her down on the bed. Moved a strand of hair from her face. Kissed her cheeks lightly. Then kissed her all over her face. “ 41 years without you has been living hell. After that my soul had to wait 400 years to meet you. Now I cant stay away from you.” Rajat said capturing her lips again. Paridhi snaked her hand arround his neck and tangled her fingers into her hair. Rajat moved his lips down her neck. Paridhi moaned loudly. “ ohhh Rajat.... we shouldn’t....” She gasped. Rajat moved his hand all over her body. He looked up into her eyes. He muzzled her neck, then pecked her lips again. They got up and sat on the sofa near the window. Rajat sat first and hugged Paridhi from behind. “ what did your brother say.” Rajat asked. “ He said he wants to meet the person who could crack a tough nut like me.” She said. Rajat laughed and pecked her cheeks “You were always a tough nut to crack be it this life or that.” He said. “ It was not my fault last time. I did fall for you at first sight. But when I came to know you were a mughal, it was just prejudice which my people had. And I was a little angry that you killed innocent person just to get me.” Paridhi. “ It feels good to have you in my arms again.”Rajat said. “ It feels good to be back.”Paridhi leaned back on his chest. “ I think you should go now. We have to be back at work tommrow. “ said Paridhi. “ hummm I know, but I dont feel like going.” He said pouting. Paridhi kissed The corner of his lips. “ Go.... Goodnight. “She said getting up,pulling him along and pushing him out of the door “ Goodnight “she said laughing softly. “ You just wait I’ll get back at you for kicking me out.” Rajat said .

The next day Rajat had started work on the other paintings. Paridhi was at the site. The area was being searched for any more historical remains. Paridhi’s brother was supposed to arrive on the next day. Paridhi was nervous. Paridhi was sitting near the lake she thought back to yesterday night after Rajat left, she had heard a chilling voice calling her. She was in deep sleep so had not responded. She wondered who it was. She hadn’t seen Rajat since morning she felt restless wanted to speak to him. At the very moment her phone rang, she saw it was Rajat, she smiled “Pramam Sahanshah kahiye.” She said. “ Miss me" He asked. “ Why should I, there are so many people here? I think you are missing me.” She said. “ I'm too busy to miss anyone.” He said faining anger. “ liar” she said giggling. “ haven’t you finished its almost half the day.” She asked. “ Just a little more. I’m putting finishing touch to Raja Puranmal's painting.” He said “ hmmm I'm waiting.”Paridhi said.

By the time Rajat and Proff Dixit arrived it was lunch time. “I’ve spoken to Mr Majnoo's parents, and they are egar to see the bride. They will be arriving day after.” Rajat smiled as Paridhi blushed beautifully. “Let’s have some lunch than we can read some more. Waise someone is sulking since morning as she has not seen her special someone since morning.” Said Dr Bashak smiling “ Maaaaam.” Paridhi shouted everyone laughed.

“ Maine us baandhi ko dekha kaal raat chupke kahi jate huye. Maine uska peecha kiya. To dekha ki woh jungle ki ore jaa rahi hai. Jab main uske piche gayi to dekha ki woh ek sthan par Ruk gayi, aur niche jhukkar saanp ke bil se saanp ko nikala. Phir us saanp ko apne muh ke paas le gayi aur Jeeb nikala, aur saanp ne uske jeeb ko Das liya. Main achambhit ho gayi. Phir usne apni ankhe moond li aur phir jor se Hansen lagi, “ Sahanshah Jalal aapka anth hu main. Aapko zaharnum pohchane ati hun. Hahaha.” Usne kaha. Main waha se turant bhaag aayi aur turant Sahanshah ke kaksh mein jaa pahuchi. Weh waha nahi the. To main ne nischaye kiya ki main wahi Sahanahah ki Pratiksha karungi.”

“ Poori raat beet gayi, moti do baar aake ghumke gayi par main nahi gayi. Main bahut ghabrayi huyi thi. Hey kanha mere suhag ki Raksha karo.”

“ You waited the whole night in front of his room? “ Asked Dr Bashak “ Yes and yet she was not ready to say that she loved me.” Answered Rajat. Paridhi stuck her tongue out at him.

“ Jab Subha hui, to maine dekha ke Sahanshah ko Rukaiya begum ke kamre se nikal te dekha. Main turant unke paas gayi “ Sahanshah humein aapse ek baat karni hai” maine kaha. “ par mujhe nahi karni aapse baat.” Sahanshah ne kaha. “Bas ek baar woh woh ek vish knya hai woh aapki nahi baandhi. Hum ne khud apni ankho se dekha. Ek baar bas ek baar janch lijiye” maine kaha. “ Thikhai. Sipahi. Benazir se kaho Deewan e khas mein pesh ho.” Bloke chale gaye.”

“ Mere aansu ruk hi nahi rahe hai usne sirf apne aapko nirdosh hi saabit nahi kiya, Balki praja ke akerman ke kaaran Sahanshah usse nikha karne wale hai. Ab main use kaise roku. Kaal vivah hai. Par nahi main kuch bhi karungi jarurat pare to apne pran tak dungi par unhe bachungi.”

“ She was very brave I should say.” commented Proff Dixit.

There were a few blank pages after this. “some pages are blank” Paridhi said turning the pages.She looked up at Rajat ,he looked grave. “ Yes because this stupid girl here drank the poisoned simayiya ment for me during the wedding.” Rajat said fuming “Oh no!” exclaimed Dr Bashak
