Why isn't a single soul on the show calling out the crime that is dowry?

It is reflective of the society I think. That we as as society still haven't changed and will be willing to go to any length to get rid of a daughter.

Even if it means marrying her off to a family of arseholes who just want our money and will make the girl a slave in their house and a spineless husband.

Hope the track ends with a police complaint and the sajjan family lands up in jail. #wishfulthinking

Sad but true. And not just in rural areas. Marrying off daughter is the end all and be all for her parents. Fingers crossed that they teach a lesson to the groom's family in this serial.
