I have watched very few SI movies, mostly on netflix and amazon , I really liked them. Do send me a link, would really appreciate that. I loved Bangalore Days , Ok kanmani for the actors:) and few others whose name I don’t remember.

So we have the kid and trans father (the best story imo)

A bunch of teenagers who are into adult stuff 😆 until one day they find out that one of their mother was an ex point star (played by the awesome ramya Krishnan of baahubali fame)

A cheating wife who accidently ends up killing her flame and hides him.in the fridge😆And how her and her husband then have to hide him.

And forth story I am kind of forgetting they all sound super weird and uncomfortable to watch on paper but trust me the treatment is so well done that one doesn't feel awkward and it's done in a very very classy way. Their is a reason why it is so critically acclaimed and so enjoyable plus it has the better of cast from all south industries

You have vijay sethupathi(mainly tamil) fahadh(malayalam) sam from telugu industry

Special shoutout to sam for taking this right after her real wedding and doing it as she said in one of the IV everyone told her her career will be over caz she is doing a cheating wife just when she got married but chaityanya told her to go for it and she was convinced and hehe it paid. It solidified her as an actress now and am glad she has been taking more performance oriented roles and not being a glam doll anymore

So it is very intresting to see them all coming together for a tamil film. This one i can't stop praising enough like this was what wow looks like

I hope you like it though

It is a very clever mix of dark humor and thriller but actually holding a message too

Also tw there's a scene involving the father(trans) being sexually harassed at the police station just caz he identifies himself as a woman really eye opening stuff and it's rare to see desi cinema exploring all these things so well

So yeah my point being everyone thought an Akshay Kumar is doing something amazing being dressing up as a woman and playing a trans when all it is is maha cringe and nonsense and am sorry when I have a vijay doing such a brilliant job just months ago toh I well judge and hold a grudge against hindi audience or a jayasurya playing marykutyy which talks again about all the issues a trans person has to deal with in their day to day and in a non offensive way toh I will judge and crib and take all the offence when and Akshay Kumar plays a joke in name of being oh so mahaan hasti to dress up in a sari Matlab widen your horizons before giving him a novel price and watch actual content that is daring in the actual sense of word .

Sorry thoda zyada ho gaya but am touchy when South Indian content is being generalized to hype cringe bollywood currently they could never dare to make a film like super deluxe originally but will be quick to remake it and tag it aa theirs smh

Sounds like a good movie, will watch it! I don’t know when🤔

I toh liked yami as ginny I liked how she was confident working woman without going overboard but apparently some people thought she had no mind and was rather a bad depiction and am like mujhe toh kuch kharab nahi laga tha uske saath I enjoyed it.

The parents really helped lift it up on both sides they were so funny yet they understood their kids and that was the nice part they were open to them experiencing their life even if they wanted sunny to do shaadi and trying hard for it their was still this very sweet comfort level an easy going vibe that I enjoyed same with ginny and her mother.

@bold: LOL what? How was it a bad depiction? I toh actually was pleasantly surprised that they showed her as proper confident working woman rather than some vapid confused bimbo. She was confident in her beauty and her appeal without being a weirdo about it. Barring that initial scene when she rejects that guy with some OTT antics, the rest of her character actually turned out surprisingly well rounded.....based on the promos, I was expecting her character to be an airhead but it was not like that.

The parents were THE BEST....lol especially Sunny ke dad ke one liners😆.....dialogues were actually very good in the film....even woh Ginny ka "confusion" wala Haryanvi ex had pretty funny lines with the "teen baatein bolunga"😆.....and then Ginny's mom was a total patakha too....lol....it was hilarious how all the parents - the moms and the dad would just chill out having 2-3 peg together🤣

Actually this film is an example of how to do a simple formula film without too many gimmicks and still have heart. Haan they added a typical shaadi and some token songs but overall it was a good simple rom-com.

Mujhe toh boring nahi lagi idk why are people saying that. Maybe just caz it doesn't have the forced sex and hawtness even though they kinda touch it in that Mika song😆 but that's also integrated i to the story

LOL haan restaurant ka answer nahin milaa and the shaadi also kinda came out of nowhere....lol dulhan direct venue mein hi dikhaayi😆....but barring that, the rest of the film was quite easy breezy fun. Surprisingly cleanly made film in aaj ka zamana....they didn't even do the token kissing scene jo aajkal har movie mein hota hai😆

Oh absolutely they do deserve props for trying to tackle realistic subjects and experiment more with their storylines....I don't really view them in comparison to bollywood....for me, the language or specific industry doesn't matter if I connect to the story. Bollywood is mostly about gimmicks these days, true.....but in south movies, I haven't found enough that consistently holds my attention too. I like a few on and off though.

Right! No kiss no hug yet one could feel their connect. I esp like the scene in gurwardara where she is crying and he just is looking into the space very poignantly done and moving tha.

I toh loved sethi Saab and shobha ke scenes😆 The dad being hum toh forward hain jee🤣 sab kuch automatic hai. And the sister she was fun too everyrime sunny came failed after a plan in sabke expressions were🤣

Main tumhe ss send karti hokn on Twitter that had me rolling my eyes so hard it almost fell out of sockets ginny is obnoxious apparently 😆

Omg i watched that for Massey too and he was hardly there and same I hated that film it was just really bad depiction if an unsatisfied woman. I just didn't understood the whole hoopla about it again super deluxe explores sexuality in a much better way and again not a comfortable topic to watch and am personally kinda tired of the overdose of this genre but it is such a contrast to how it can be enterttimg too. Even konkona sen shrama could save that dolly film. I did not connect at all

Oh this was a LOVELY scene....I loved the simplicity of it...not a single dialogue as she cries and eats the prashad and he's just sitting next to her.....this is where the movie won brownie points from me....they nailed a lot of these character interaction moments....I also loved how Ginny would constantly roll her eyes at all of Sunny ke cheesy antics and call him cheesy to his face😆

Haha yes, Sunny ki sister was savage with her one liners too....is ladki ko bhi maine kisi show/movie mein dekha hai but I can't recall....waise apni EDKV2 ki Avni bhi yeh role perfectly kar leti😆
