the problem here is that she is guilty in this to a small extent. She trusted Rahul and took Rudra to destruction. If we are in pree position and see someone destroyed because we took a wrong call, we will feel guilty and then on top of that we realise we love that person, that person’s pain is going to in that case kill us even more. We want them back to happiness. We want them back with us. In that she might not hold him punish him much because right now is punishment enough for both.

now Rudra on the other hand will feel immensely guilty for doubting the love of his life. So if you put yourself in his shoes, he is the one who is not going to be able to face her and look her in the eye even if she forgives him, that will make him feel worse. He will want to be punished and even if pree doesn’t punish him, he will punish himself. It is easy for him to go into a self torture mode..(which again if you think from pree’s side will hurt her seeing him again like this and again not completely back to her the old carefree way becuase he will walk on egg shells around her then) so the redemption track will happen for Rudra sake and not becuase pree wants it or needs it. And it will start Within this when he starts having the doubts and starts realising pree was right. And he will try to make things right and also protect her and fight to prove her innocence by himself. He will do everything for her and not for himself
