Thiruda Thiruda ( 1995 Tamil Movie dir by Mani Ratnam)

This movie when released was way ahead of its times, a drama adventure movie with ARR's music ( his 3rd movie I think). The movie had Prasanth, Heera, Anand, and Anu Agarwal in lead with SPB playing a major role as well.

Last night, thought of showing it to my kids and enjoyed it .

The movie is about a cat and mouse game played between the CBI, the villain, and a duo of petty thieves who get stuck into all this in between.

Just a fun ride, with great music and locales with spell bounding cinematography by PC Sreeram. This movie didn't work at that time, it was way ahead of its times but I enjoyed it back then and did so now too.

Anu Agarwal looked gorgeous in this. Heera was annoying but I guess her village belle role was ok. Between the 2 guys, Anand outshined Prasanth. The little triangle love going on between them was sweet too.

The music by ARR was amazing. Be it Chandralekha, or kannum Kannum kolai, etc.

The Tashkent Files

One word that describes it - Amateurish... From the performances - particularly from the leading lady and other ladies, men were slightly better- to storytelling to dialogues...

Yet watchable just for the theme.

Saw Silence movie yesterday ( Tamil starting Madhavan, Anushka Shetty )

Plot was ok but execution was poor.

Very disappointing ( 5/10)

Started well but just poor amateurish execution, silly reasoning and lame twist.

Khaali Peeli is such a nice heartwarming and entertaining film. The film would have been a big hit if it reached the theaters. Ananya is such a natural actress, especially in the comic and emotional scenes. She looks so so gorgeous and pretty. She is miles ahead of her colleagues in Bollywood. Ishaan is also good. Both shared beautiful chemistry. Loved the film.

Emily in Paris

So as you’ve probably heard, this has the Internet divided. I was expecting something super controversial but it’s mostly the French being offended by the stereotypical depiction of them, which is a fair criticism tbh. The city of love in all its glory, brought to you by the maker of Sex and the City. Definitely had me reminiscing Paris and wanting to go live out there for 6 months. It’s lighthearted and fun. Easy to binge watch the first season - 10 episodes but only half hour long. Bring on season 2!

Tehran Season 1

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm_vHTy9IYA

Full marks on entertainment especially the Plot twist in the end. ((Didnt see it coming (more so didnt care it came😆)).

Writing is too dramatized and unreal. "City electricity grid is tied to military bases power grid, Hack electricity board and you are in Military base."😆 Central City electricity grid has only 8-10 employees.

But we are not watching Documentary or Discovery channel. It is a Spy thriller and tension build up is for real..

Protagonist girl Tamar is not even close to Homeland's Carrie Mathison...but she is hot. 😳

6.5/10

Jurassic Park

No matter how many times you see this movie, it never gets old. A Speilberg classic.

Anaconda

Before WAP there was Anaconda the OG music video about the dense, dark depths of the Amazon jungle.

The Trial of the Chicago 7

Strongly recommend this one on Netflix. Based around the time of the Vietnamese War, this is a courtroom drama about a group of people accused of inciting riots against Chicago PD. Brilliant acting from the entire cast. This one will keep you gripped throughout. Expecting this one to win or at least be nominated for awards. 1968. 2020. Pretty sad how in some ways things haven’t changed at all.

Honestly it was kinda crazy reading more about the case after watching the movie because the reality was even crazier than what they showed.
