Sharing something personal:

I was in a relationship with a girl, my first love, but there was great push-back from our families against our union. While talking to a friend of mine, he gave me an analogy that I took to heart. He said imagine you walk into a store and pick a shirt. Then for some reason decide you'll buy it later and walk out. After a few days you come back, and that shirt is missing. You might like other shirts, but the malaal of missing out on that first shirt might stay with you.

This just stuck in my brain for some reason.

I eventually married my now wife in secret, braved through lots of brainwashing, and then had an "arranged" marriage.

Thought of sharing this in case anyone might be in the same boat.

Good👍🏼 Congratulations.....had you not married her...the regret would have hampered your marriage with another girl which would have not been fair to you or that girl...so kudos to you.
