Part 3

She gazed up atVansh and just asked one question, "Are you sure tum mere husband ho?"("Are you sure you are my husband?". "Yaadasht aapki gayi h Mrs Vansh Rai Singhania. Meri nahi!", Vansh replied with an attitude.

"Toh fir ice-cream kahan h meri?" To say that Vansh was flabbergasted was an understatement. "You know I am having a hard time understanding all of this, but really how can you be here without even chocolates or ice cream forme? I mean, what kind of husband does that?"

Vansh: "I don't really think tumhari tabyat thik h"

Riddhima: "I also don't think meri tabyat thik h which is why I want that ice cream. Waise tumhe pata hona chahie because tum patiii ho mere but I want dark chocolate ice cream with brownie and chocochips, preferably from Cream Stone or Frozen bottle." Riddhima just said thistilting her head side ways in half-annoyance. I mean, sure she didn't remember this guy altogether, but since he said he was her so-called husband this was the least he could do. She would have done this even for a random acquaintance.

Vansh was still surprised, this did NOT seem like the girl he had married. The one who had not even wanted to marry him and went about her days spying on him, was asking him for ice cream! It just made no sense. He wasn't even sure if this memory loss was real or just a new drama but he was going to get to the bottom of this. For now, he just asked Aangre to get it to avoid this argument after getting permission from the doctor.

Vansh decided to play along with this tirade till he had a hang of what was really going on here. Was this the real Riddhima? Why was she acting so completely different? What was this new drama all about? He went and sat in her bed and asked her as tucking back a strand of hair behind the ear looking deep into her, "So, sweetheart how are you feeling now?".
Her heart skipped a beat at the unfamiliar gesture and she just mumbled, "Well, I just feel like, you know, like I was hit with a truck. Thank you! How are you?"

Meanwhile, Vansh was surprised she didn't flinch like she usually did whenever he came close. He just said, "Ye Mazak ka time nhi h Riddhima. I am serious."

Riddhima: " Iam serious too. Aisi haalat me hospital me amazing to feel nhi hi hota h"

At least the verbal sparring was the same, she hadn't changed all that much overnight.

V: "So, I'm told you have memory loss. Tumhe last kya yaad h?"

R: "I was gone for trekking trip in Rishikesh and had plans for travelling further. I have some memories from that trip and then it gets all hazy. So, when did we supposedly get married? It all seems like The Vow or something like that."

V: "Interesting. Very Interesting! Waise sweetheart, aaj hamari shaadi ko 10din ho chuke h"

Just then Vansh got a call and went to talk by the window. Just listening to this, Riddhima was drawn back into her thoughts. 10 days of marriage! Marriage! Never been one for long committed relations, she wasn't sure how she could have just jumped directly into marriage.

But if she did, didn't it mean she would have only because she was in love. There could be no other possible reason. But marriage was a huge deal. She wasn't sure she was ready for that. And love, did she love this man? If yes, why wasn't she feeling it? Did memory loss take away feeling too? Sure, she found him attractive, he was. But that didn't equal to love and it was all so confusing. Besides, he wasn't acting so loving or concerned and that made no sense. But then, for now it was probably the best to go with the flow and see how things would go. She wanted to call her friends too, but she didn't want them involved in a mess even she didn't understand for now. If she kept thinking, her mind would most likely just exhaust itself.

Note: I know it was a long wait. I was trying hard to see what kind of reaction a person would have in this situation and also trying to figure out Riddhima's backstory. Thank you for all the comments. They made my day!
