Makes sense. Reducing his age makes him seem like he's part of the Kartik Aryan crew of newcomers. Keeping his real age pushes him more into the Ranbir/Ranveer group which makes him look unaccomplished compared to them. It's better for him to appear as if he's one generation after them.

It's the same reason Sara reduced her age. She's rather be compared with Jahnvi and Ananya types and not Alia.

He said that on Feet Up with Anaita as well. So that was not a slip of tongue. And recently he posted a collage of his friends' from engineering college, class of 2005 written there, So definitely not 88 born.
