Dosti aur pyar ka overlap

I wasn't sure if we would get a touching follow up to the lovely Friday epi, but the show has again pleasantly surprised me. They didn't abruptly shift gears - instead, they've built on the emotional momentum of the events from Friday.

I LOVED the Bunty-Shravan scene....possibly one of my favorites of theirs so far. It was just shown so very touchingly. Everyone would wish for a friend like Bunty - steadfast, loyal, giving rational advice to Shravan in such a low moment for him.....it was just a beautifully written and performed scene.....the way Shravan walked us all through his emotions....the heartbreak was underscoring it all - but the way he talked about learning of his importance in Suman's life, and hearing her talk about the kind of best friend she wants making him reflect on the fact that he has Bunty - they tied it all so nicely together. An ode to friendship itself....and to the different kinds of friends there are. There is a Bunty who's like a rock in Shravan's life....and then there's a Shravan who now wants to aspire to be Sumo's Bunty😆....because this is what she's asked of him and he can't bring himself to deny her. The moment where he mentions that he's realized there can be dosti in love but dosti can't always culminate in love....aww poor Shravan.

I loved that Bunty pointed out all the obvious pitfalls....encouraging Shravan to tell Sumo the truth of his feelings even if she says no....and he also pointed out that Shravan is not seeing the problems coming his way if he tries to go down this path of torturing himself to be Sumo's BFF even though he's in love with her.

Mohit and Jay were really good in this scene.....I don't know how Mohit manages to make this child-like heartbreak of Shravan's so endearing - you really do feel for his pain in that moment. And I'm so glad we got to see Jay doing something beyond the comedy....he's clearly capable of showing a more sober tone to his character too....I hope the makers give him more versatile scenes to do. Bunty-Shravan ka hug at the end of the scene was just 💔.

Then the group study scene the next morning.....once again we see the resolute Shravan...ready to be the BFF that Sumo wants and pouring all his heart into it. LOL@ the random Hum-Tum cartoons🤔😆....but anyways the SS convo there was sweet....Shravan encouraging her to continue sketching even after joining the Army. Most notable though was the bit where Shravan stood up for Sumo when Anish was trying to do some faltugiri with the "crush" discussion....loved the way Shravan pointed out with implacable faith that Sumo is a confident girl who will speak her truth in any situation (let's ignore for a moment that she's in denial about some things😆)....but the way Shravan handled that bit was very nicely done....and Sumo was once again impressed. lol

Finally we get to the obligatory Kancha scene where she points out a few things that Sumo stubbornly wants to be in denial about.....all that was needed was an Ostrich with her head buried in the sand analogy to complete this scene but Kancha ke examples bhi sahi the😆. THANK YOU, Kancha for pointing out that feelings don't get flipped on and off like a switch. Hallelujah. Sumo so desperately wants to oversimplify things that she definitely doesn't like it when Kancha points out to her that human emotions aren't so cut and dried. Also importantly, Kancha pointed out to Sumo that all the things that Sumo seems to think can only be achieved through being BFFs also exist in love....there is an overlap....the feeling of wanting someone who supports you, listens to you, doesn't judge you....these are all there in love too. But that was too much for Sumo to process so she shut it down😆....it's always easier for her to pretend she has all the answers.

Bechaare Shravan ki bhook bhi marr gayi? Aww it has to be true love then😆.....Jokes apart, bechara was so upset in the end talking to that towel about his struggle and losing battle with this BFF only zone😆....

What I was finally struck by in the end after I finished watching the epi....I don't know if this has been discussed before and I'm just repeating myself.....but it became apparent that Sumo craves Shravan's brand of friendship, while Shravan craves Sumo's brand of love😆....talk about a conundrum. lol

They are both in awe of each other's visions regarding love and friendship respectively....what they, especially Sumo don't seem to realize is that they can have both....they can have Shravan ki dosti as well as Sumo ka pyar....it doesn't need to be an either/or choice😆....maybe that's what they will realize with time.

SO GLAD that they aren't doing the usual whole week precap thing again😆....good to see a new precap.....Sumo ka tough time bhi shuru ho gaya hai....the genie is out of the bottle😆....she can no longer pretend that she doesn't know who Shravan is in love with no matter how much she thinks she's "shut that down"😆.....the dance in the room doesn't seem like a dream....let's see how that comes about😆.

Oh man the bubty shravan scene was oh so beautiful. It was such a beautiful follow up to the Friday scene. I loved thay they showed the depth of their friendship and love beyond just masti and fun. One could actually see how bunty was breaking for shravan too bur he had to also handle shravan at his most vulnerable time. I liked the Friday version of this scene too where he accidentally hit bunty and then in a jiffy was blowing on his wound and kosooing himself for rejecting bechare bunty ka concern for him and craving for the one who doesn't love him the same way he does. I absolutly loved how he said the whole dosti main pyar and pyar main dosti thing. Both of them were exceptional in that scene and I would definately like to see more of this side of their friendship too. This genuine pyar they have. Aww the hug reminded me of the hug outside pool club where bubty was so touched that shravan would fight for him awww🤗🤗 such sweethearts they are. I was melting at bunty saying that if shravan won't his patience will run out and he would blurt out the truth

Loved shravan shutting up that anish too and displaying his mature side to suman and everyone when he said that she will say it if it is even though he knows she likes to just deny and pretend everything is OK mode but aaj dosti with sumo pe bhi khara utra shravan with backing up suman. Dost toh sach main kamaal hai shravan then be it bunty or sumo ka.

Kancha is our wise little missy tried to knock some sense and logic into sumo's head but woh sumo hi kya jo itni jaldi accept kar le that there's more to her feelings too that she keeps covering with sirf dosti.

So it looks like shravan's mom has found out that someone broke his heart but couldn't hear the name so now she will give that job to suman oh boy this is going to get tougher for our poor shravan but shayad isme suman can realize the intensity of his feelings for her. Abhi toh she's at ease ke even if he had them he is ok now so no big deal if she rejected him meanwhile out boy is so broken I felt so terrible for him throughout the episode .

Overall a very very good episode again dil khish hua even if it was a rough day for shravan today.

i agree..their bond is always a treat to watch...its relatable bc i have siblings (slightly different from bunty who is shravan's friend but the bond matters more than whether its of blood or water ) who are of my age group & i would share all of my feelings/frustrations primarily to them bc they know where im coming from...it was a killer scene...bunty continued to explain to just say it out so that shravan might have a burden lifted off his shoulders rather than cry everyday as he has to see her everyday thereby reminding him of the rejection & the pain it inflicted...first actual pain of rejection💔...the scene when bunty tells him to stop sobbing and using him as a piece of solace followed by tear dropping from shravan's eyes...truth hurts buts its the truth..

Then the group study scene the next morning.....once again we see the resolute Shravan...ready to be the BFF that Sumo wants and pouring all his heart into it. lol i was thinking if they played the hum tum song - saanson ko sanson mein thamne laga like the male version...😆never knew sumo could also color/paint cartoons so well..😆shravan told her to be in touch with her artistic side even after enlisting in the military❤️so good to say him bc it will stress her away from the military duties for a bit....while i liked that shravan defended suman smartly as a friend very well..he knows what matters to sumo though we know she needs a day or something to figure out her own actions bc bandhi kehti kuch aur h aur karti kuch aur h 🤣shravan knows this (epi 37) but today cried from this rejection..come on dude, you know your sumo by now at least like thoda bahut types😆

lol thank goodness for the sanity kancha cheena provided sumo with otherwise sumo kept on assuming that shravan is ok, he wants the same & all the chapad-chapad😆...its a fresh wound so itll take time to sober up...he's trying but 1 day cannot be enough to get over a rejection as each individual is different😆...the towel, the tag (if he still has that😆), moments spent etc still remind him of the moments...he wants to be her friend but he's unable to do so at the moment only trying to fake it in front of sumo and attempting to retain their friendship...

for this, i liked the dialog that shravan referenced to wherein dosti can exist in pyar but dosti isnt the medium to pyar..they both admire the dedication each puts towards the relationship having different perspectives or takes on how one views the relationship whether its love or friendship..my question though is while sumo initially did show concern about shravan trying to get over the rejection in friday's episode to easily assuming that shravan also wants what she wants then shravan attempting to be her friend to her again assuming that kanchan was wrong during the group study in todays episode...it wasnt until kanchan told her to think over as to how shravan wont get over the rejection very easily ..its just a weird characteristic to start assuming what the opposite person might really want & what she really wants even though i admire her confidence about speaking the truth...😆

Oh same....I loved how Bunty didn't relent even when Shravan was trying to give him his kasam😆.....ekdum pucca wala dost who wasn't even allowing himself to be emotionally blackmailed....lol itna saccha answer diya that if he feels he can't bear seeing Shravan like this, he'll go tell Sumo everything, to hell with the consequences....lol

Friday's scene was nice too but the continuation today was even better....this scene touched me more.

Haan Kancha try toh karti rehti hai😆.....but Sumo has always been a tough cookie....iski ghanti der se bajegi😆....

Yeah looks like Shravan will tell his mom that he's upset over some girl, but he won't tell her the name.....so mom will have an idea about his pain without knowing who the girl is.....lol this means that whenever she finds out the girl is Suman, she will have one more reason to hold a grudge ki Sumo hurt her pyara PUTTAR😆

Yep, Sumo will now start to see the intensity of Shravan's feelings for her....it will become harder to ignore and be in denial like she usually is cuz she is now being confronted by the signs of what he feels no matter where she turns.

It was a rough day for Shravan but story kept the momentum going so I was happy.....lol

Yes, this is the first time I think that Shravan has experienced pain that cut so deep....that is why his tears had the heartbroken innocence of a child experiencing their first hurt.....yeah he was also hurt/upset after the party fiasco but this time, the broken way in which he was crying just showed how much his heart was truly shattered. This cut was way deeper.....and yet somehow, with each deeper cut, he is maturing as a person. We can already see the shift....the last time that Shravan was this upset and guilty about hurting Sumo, he instantly switched gears to wanting to manaao her.....but this time, he seems more humbled by this pain he's experiencing and it's refining him as a person too.

my question though is while sumo initially did show concern about shravan trying to get over the rejection in friday's episode to easily assuming that shravan also wants what she wants then shravan attempting to be her friend to her again assuming that kanchan was wrong during the group study in todays episode...it wasnt until kanchan told her to think over as to how shravan wont get over the rejection very easily ..its just a weird characteristic to start assuming what the opposite person might really want & what she really wants even though i admire her confidence about speaking the truth...

LOL this is a great question....in fact, it is THE question when it comes to Sumo....lol. As Kancha gently pointed out in the scene, Sumo isn't able to believe that something can be contrary to the way she sees it😆....just like Kancha's own mom was very confident that no one could make a better dish than her until she was proven wrong😆.

Another thing here is the fact that Sumo never seems to have experienced an actually deep crush before....whatever crushes she had were so fleeting and she got over them quickly....so she seems to be presuming it was the same for Shravan and he could also get over this "crush" he had on Sumo and go back to friendship like she did😆. She's in for a rude awakening on that front as she realizes how deep Shravan's feelings for her actually are😆

Ughh manhoos BB was back today😵....yeah he's deffo not going to sudhro anytime soon....upar se Anjali ne bhi bol diya that she will continue to stay mute and not tell Vijay the truth🤔....I feel like BB will use this to his advantage to continue to mess things up since he knows Anjali won't phodo his bhaanda....dheet old man.

This is so awww🤗 mujhe bhi hug karna hai dono ko yahan .mera protective instinct Bahar aa raha hai yeh dekh ke. Also the height difference in this is making it more adorable. It's almost like shravan holding onto his child 😆

What also stuck me here is that bunty is actually the one who's supposed to be the comforting force but it was like he needed more emotional support in this hug and shravan being the comforting one here instead of being comforted 😆☺️❤️

Haan height difference toh ekdum adorable hai in dono ka😆.....Bunty was supposed to be the one consoling but yes, he himself was so torn up over Shravan ki haalat ki comfort karte karte he himself needed to be consoled. Dono ek dusre ka support system hain sach mein :)
