Just what the doctor ordered

“Uhh hmm”

Little Kuki clears her throat whilst setting up her paints and paper at the kitchen table after breakfast.

Later that afternoon as she plays tea party in the lounge with her teddies, she gives out a scratchy noise which her father hears and looks in her direction but his little angle only smiles back ...

Towards the end of the day as Rishabh signs off the last bit of paper at his chair Kuki suddenly climbs into his lap looking feverishly unwell.

"Kuki sweetheart what’s the matter?" Says Rishab caressing her hair. As kuki's little face looks up at him Rishabh sees tiny tears rolling down her face.

Rishabhs heart stops when he realises his daughter is trying to tell him something but she can’t find her voice.

Prerna watched him stood by the door of the doctors office with his hands in his pockets.. he seemed to be just staring at into the solid glass.

He had Kukis doctor fly in, Mr Mehra on hand and the best medical team at his disposal. He'd done everything in his power. It was now a waiting game.

Prerna took two steps towards him and wrapped her hand around his forearm. She looked to her side at him still staring at the hospital room.

"She’ll be just fine". She Whispered not expecting Rishabh to of all people to look at her so unsteadily.

"I can’t stand by and watch her loose her voice .

His eyes looked frantic for a second

“She won't” Prerna jumped in quickly, not used to having to console him.

..

Soon as the doctor stepped out Kukis hospital room Prerna and Rishabh were quick to turn to him.

“It’s just one two many ice creams Mr Bajaj kuki will be fine in a few hours..it’s your average cold”

Prerna and Mr Mehra breathed a sigh of relief whilst Rishabh remained on edge.

“Is her voice back?”

“Not yet but it will be back soon” smiled the doctor.

“I want you to stay right here till it comes back.. “ Rishabh orders the doctor.

Prerna wraps her hand around his arm hoping he’d go easier on the doctor who had only helped till now.

With the doctor by Kukis side taking her temperature every half an hour, telling her stories to pass the time waiting for her voice to come back Rishabh sat in a chair at the side of the room waiting to hear his daughters voice.

The doctor and Kuki played notes and crosses, RB wasn't amused the doctor better do what he was there for or they'd be trouble.

Prerna bought Kuki a home cooked meal, hours passed Kuki felt sorry for Mr Mehra, and the doctor who waited so long because Rishabh wouldn’t allow them to leave.

It was 1:30am when Kuki looked over to her father and spoke .. “pa let them go home”

All eyes and ears shot up there was no telling which of the three men were most happiest. Rishabh jumped out of his chair and wrapped Kuki in his arms as though he needed the hug more then her.

Prerna who was the water machine outside the room witnessed the sight from a distance, bringing a much needed smile to her face.

Before kuki left the hospital she had a whole lot of questions for the doctor.

“can I eat chocolate?”

“I don’t see why not” replied the doctor.

“Pa can we stop by the store for some ?...”

...

And so they’d stopped by the supermarket for her chocolate bar.

Kuki and Prerna stayed in the car whilst Rishabh went into the store. Of course he knew exactly what Kukis favourites were .. he stopped for a moment In secrecy from family, from Mehra from the world and closed his eyes for a moment in the Isle and let out a sigh.

When getting back into the car with a paper bag full of his daughters most favourite treats he’d looked into the mirror to see Kuki In the back seat, “She’s differed off ”

“Aap theekh hai?” She asked after a moment.

He didn’t say anything for second she wondered if he would, after a little time quietly not sure if something like this was acceptable from a man such as himself.

“I was very scared for a moment Prerna“

Awwww cookie ate too many icecreams and got a sore throat and her parents got very sacred especially her pa 🥺🥺🥺🥺 ofc when your child has been mute for long and recently started speaking and all of a sudden stops speaking the torment and pain parents go through is unexplainable. Worst part the helplessness of the child who wants to speak but can't 😭🥺😭🥺 aww Kuki 🥺 I will eat her up 🥺

One ice creams too many😆....the story of every household with kids.... Pehle zidd karke khao... Phir ro ki gala dukh raha hai...aur anxiety hothi hai parents ko... The immovable Rishabh Bajaj got shaken to his bones with his Princess's suffering.... Bechara.... Ofc this case is a bit more sensitive with Kukki's history.... And he always wants to see her happy and smiling... The significant thing in this update is his admission of distress and fear to Prerna... It's a true sign of trust on his part...the way you have shown the progress in PreRish's relationship is truly remarkable ....

such a sweet update. i can just imagine RB being scared for his little angel, you did such a good job showing his feelings. I'm glad he confessed he was scared, you don't have to be strong all the time & I'm glad he can share that with P.

you ate her 20 times already - 😳 but she is cute I agree! and she turns RB into marsh-mellows
