Lol i’m not getting in to a south vs north debate. I’m sure Bahrain is very different to the UAE. It’s humans rights record speaks for itself.

@bold - What? You wouldn’t want to be a citizen of the only place you have ever know to be home but of a foreign country instead?

On a complete side note - I made a stopover in Bahrain en route to India this year. Never again will I fly that route! Best lounge ever but truly the worst airport I have ever been to.

I'm not asking you to get into a North vs South debate, was just drawing a similarity, thats all. You can read as many records as you want but as someone who has lived there, I'm aware of the opportunities, love and respect that expats are exposed to. They're most welcoming gilf country and was even voted the best for expats.

Um no. India isn't a foreign country to me. And I asked that specifically because having a passport of a gulf country is definitely not an advantage in today's times. But anyways just to make it clear, Bahrain gives indians citizenship. Im eligible to have it. But I dont want it. I like my Indian passport.

Bahrain has a new airport under construction that will be ready soon. Its a small country and the airport is suited to the requirements of a country that size. Yet, a new one is underway.

ETA- Also you're right, hurting someone's religious senitments is wrong. But insulting and entire religion and country because of the stupidity of one lady is no better. And people crying about their religious sentiments being hurt while in turning hurting another? That's true double standards.

The passport thing is more a personal thing as opposed to the power of the passport. If I was born and raised in Germany but had an Algerian passport, I would feel a bit strange.

I’m not advocating mocking another religion in the process but by all means, they have a right to feel outrage at their own religion and Gods being dished out such pathetic treatment.

Ahh I found the airport was so old school. In need of a major refurb. Barely any good places to eat. Even the Chili’s was shut. Even Bombay’s domestic airport is miles better. Also without being condescending, some of the people there are low skilled workers flying back home so you get to see people on airport chairs lying down with their chappals and bare feet on the seats. Not a pretty sight.

If Secular Indians talking about whats happening in Islamic countries is laughable, why is everyone concerned about whats happening to Uyghur Muslims in an Atheist country China. Islamic countries treat their minorities worse than anyone else but are absolved of any blame cos they are Islamic state.
