Komolika inflicts so much pain but it never seems enough - because the writers gloss over the repercussions. It takes a great deal of gut and resolve to handle all your characters and situations with respect - regardless of the situation or role they fulfill.
Once you get to the point of not truly caring for your characters and how they are portrayed - the downwards spiral starts. While Indian shows are known for being melodramatic - everyone has a limit. There is not a mother on earth that would flinch at the thought of taking a life. so added to Komolika's crazy, destructive and obsessive love - we can now add - heartless mother
