People should stop believing this online TRP sham. Many fandoms have learnt the lesson the hard way. Show gets low TV ratings but high “online TRP” (whatever that means). Then channel axes the show and fans cry saying they are No.1 online. No organisation collects viewership on OTT platforms as yet. Please try and reason this.

RS and DKP wanted safer slot for Anupama, it’s his mom’s pet project and a new launch so they sacrificed our show to the more competitive slot expecting it to swim or sink. I still think SP will give it at least 6 months to catch up, mainly because of lead pair’s popularity! Both of them have done previous hit shows on SP

They thought that YRHPK had an establish audience who’d watch the show at a competitive but better slot like 9pm. The same is not true for a new show like Anupama. So yeah, it was a calculated move only that their calculation was wrong.

Considering that the show had been doing well before the lockdown, the channel will give it some time. The leeway is based on past performance and not based on popularity (Popularity should translate to ratings which isn’t happening now)

SP/disney had huge losses due to IPL last year, dont think they can recover losses this year as well. Dont think SP will wait for IPL to end like sony as balance sheet had already bad and need to narrow down and intersting to see what SP will do if most of its serials didnt work in coming weeks just like now expect anupama..

Now that rest of the cast are returning to the show the TRPs will also pick up. So far the episodes have been barebones with main cast only minus Kunal, Nanu and Maheshwaris. I think we are reading too much into low TRPs and panicking for no reason. It’s hardly a month since show returned, SP will give more time to pick up speed

Lead pair is still very popular, their popularity hasn’t waned but story/screenplay needed to pick up it’s pace which its doing right now. Anupama won’t last that long, it’s the couples show that go on forever eg. KKB, KB, YRKKH etc albeit with multiple separations, kids etc

TBH, this new season is not great imo. Typical track and boring content. StarPlus has already stopped the YRHPK vertical bus they used to air until 2 weeks ago on Sundays. Soon they’d start reducing repeats if numbers don’t pick up.

Indian families generally have late dinner around 9 pm so that slot isn’t as great for them as 10 pm after-dinner relax and watch TV.

TV promotions also help which DKP and SP isn’t reportedly doing. However I don’t think SP will pull this show off and that’s because it’s topping online TRPs and also SP has a good equation with Shaheer because of Mahabharata rerun’s popularity.

Online trps aren't taken into account my dear. For Indian serials I believe Urban BARC ratings are taken into account to consider whether or not a show would continue to stay on air.

I agree the show is better than so many of the other shows running currently and the channel should give it more time to settle in the time slot. They shouldn't take a decision in haste.

I don’t think this is a boring track, it took a little time to warm up but now it’s become quite thrilling and exciting like a murder mystery! Besides it’s dealing with a very serious matter of attempted rape and self defense and so far it’s been raising some very valid questions about society’s attitude towards an assault victim and they are handling it quite well. Frankly speaking I don’t obsess with numbers, as long as I’m loving the show I’m guessing many people are enjoying too, SP usually lets a show reach a logical conclusion before pulling the plug, not like Sony who abruptly end their shows! This show still can explore many themes and tracks

The track might deal with social issues but sometimes it is just a drag. And this is not a new track at all. I have seen such tracks before. That aside, you are not exactly right about StarPlus letting shows reach logical conclusion. That is only true for successful shows. Ones which don’t bring ratings are abruptly axed by StarPlus too. Take KarnSangini, Sanjivani, Ek Brahm etc. (Not saying these shows deserved to stay on air)

Anyway, considering history of YRHPK, they’d be more lenient. Also because it is Shahi’s show.

Exactly, this is Shahi’s show and he will take the call not SP. Those other shows you mentioned that SP shut down abruptly, those didn’t have a hugely popular pair like Mishbir! Popular couples are the most important factor in longevity of a show. Even substandard shows with repeated boring tracks continue for years because lead couple are popular.
