With ott, you can actually make out good actors from bad. Overrated actors vs actors who deserve more

OTT, you are right, is a more level playing field. The star system more or less collapses, and it's more difficult to get away with bad acting. Also, it can throw up surprise stars like Tripti Dimri in Bullbul.

It was there before with video cassettes

Some Video cassettes use Release before theatrical release 😂 😉

It puts actors on an equal playing field and it also separates stars from superstars. None of the biggest superstars will release their movie on OTT.

They will, wait and watch. The films eyeing for a theatre release only are also coming on OTT sooner than one can expect. Hollywood has started it too with big budget films like Mulan. No one wants to end up in loses at the end of the day.

How does the medium affect acting? Could you not make out good vs bad actors before?

OTT is not a star-driven system right now but that's how theatres started too back in the day. I'm betting eventually stars will come into play on OTT as well. It's human nature to build hierarchical systems.

I don't think so. Atleast the international trends say so.. Look at netflix most watched movies list.. Most of them star A listers.. And the movies themselves were ranged from bad to strictly average.. Extraction, 6 underground, spencer confidential etc etc...

The stars will get viewership. Ott is not about repeat watching.. Like the theatres it has turned into who can pull in maximum viewers within the first month
