Hi, pls no sorry, love any book discussions. Didn't know about Pandemic but not surprised that it was recent 2018 release.. I guess eventually these best-selling authors, after writing books for 20-30 years eventually run of ideas and can't maintain the quality. Have heard Cook's 80-90s thrillers are pretty good, Outbreak for example is from 1987 but it's not dated at all and has an interesting plot!

Sushant saved the forum. Uglytruth. People never cared about him before his death. Now they are after everyone and everything.

True, he saved a lot actually.... Sad truth.

Still can't fathom one guy with the most gorgeous smile was going through shit... And he thought dying would be better. I hope he's in a better place. Tbh I hope he feels nothing. I genuinely hope there is no life after death. Can't suffer uske Baad bhi😆.

I have to read Outbreak.

Not a fan of this genre so haven’t read much but thought to give it a try with Pandemic and I picked the worst one 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

When you are deprived of something, it makes you all the more hungry for it.

^ this quote is so profound. Heard this at the very beginning of the movie.

Not sure kaisi hai... Youtube suggested it. Anyone has watched it?

The open valve will release the contaminated air so its not good for the people around the person wearing such masks. Defeats the purpose.

In medical thrillers, I also like Michael Crichton. and John Grisham is ofc great for legal 👍🏼

I read Cell by Stephen King and it took me a month to complete it because there was so much boring filler and the end was so weird and incomplete.. it is one of his recent works so it's probably not as good as his well-known works, any recommendations?

Robin Cook ka my favorite is Coma.

Stephen King, after a long time (forgotten his earlier book contents ☺️), I recently read Mr Mercedes. Not his best work, but I enjoyed it!

Have never read Michael Crichton. Will try 👍🏼

Even though I'm left leaning, it's almost a must read to go through Ayn Rand's work (both The Fountainhead & Alas Shrugged). She was prataadit from Soviet communism, toh khulke communism ki bajayi hai. But it gave me a good perspective of the ideologies.

Would highly recommend Charles Dickens (Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, David Copperfield, A tale of two cities). I like reading about poverty. In that respect, I'd highly recommend the Hindi author Munshi Premchand (disclaimer: his works are left leaning). Another author I've loved is Saratchandra (I think he wrote in Bengali, but I've read his works translated in Hindi).

I've loved The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

LOTR I'm yet to see the movies, but gobbled up all three volumes, and would highly recommend!

The Animal Farm & The Time Machine are highly recommended!

I love The Odyssey, although I haven't fully completed it yet! Swords and sandals are my favorite!

I'm not including Indian mythological works, as I don't want to add my comments on them. But we have good stuff as well.

I'm sure I've missed many good ones, but these ones came to mind.

For quite some time I've not read any literary stuff, this reminds me... 😔
