Title credit goes to Bunty today for his "special" pronunciation of "patchup"😆
The scenes that stood out to me today, in no particular order:
1) The Devraj-Shravan scene when Shravan tries to get his dad to open up to him about his tiff with the Colonel....I liked this scene again for the layers and nuance to it rather than a straight up shutting down from Devraj....the line when he mentions that him and Vijay have been friends since before Vijay became an officer and Devraj had barely Rs.2 to his name....that's the one that intrigued me - it indicates that these two share a deep history beyond just the basic premise that we've been shown of Devraj being in awe of Army people. In this one single scene, Devraj was so many things - sort of protective about his friendship with the Colonel-not wanting to let anyone into the matter, hurt over the fight with his dearest friend, unable to open up to his son - still old school in wanting his son to just stick to studying and not try to be his friend.
There was a very natural quality to this scene....right from Devraj deflecting Shravan's questions to his wife refusing to let him shut her out. It was also nice to see Devraj admitting to how the situation escalated and he knew exactly what triggered the Colonel.
2) Shravan trying to get advice from Bunty😆.....the whole scene IMO was carried on Bunty's hilarious Bhopali accented pronunciations and his one-liners....from "pay-chuhup"...to the way he was pronouncing "love" which sounded like LAW to me🤣
3) Familiar return of bhaav khaana from both Sumo and Shravan - with both miffed at the other for not calling first after not being able to meet cuz of their fathers ka tiff😆
4) Damru and Malhotras ki maid talk about each other's routines a lot.....another couple in the making for the future?😆
5) Col Tiwari has a solid streak of anger in him too when frustrated....as was shown in the way he yelled at Damru....yes, he may have apologized later but this shows that he is capable of lashing out in anger - will definitely come into play for later family drama. lol
6) Sumo-Shravan ka kitchen interlude thanks to bhooka Damru😆 - in a way, this was the first proper (non-dream) scene they got since the show got back and it was nice to see their usual banter.
Shravan is fully in the FRIENDZONE😆, but he is getting all the feels from simple things like Sumo touching his hand😆....the "aise kaun dekhta hai" bit was nicely layered. Shravan keeps slipping up and making comments showing how lattu he is over her😆
Did I hear Sumo say that she has learnt both "bunking" and "chalaaki" from Shravan?😆.....When did she bunk school? Maybe I've forgotten this from early epis😕.....but yes, she is back in the zone of friendship with Shravan and willing to team up with him to help their dads. There is some ego, some of the usual contempt she has for him (calling him a loser for not doing what she wants😆) but baaki sab back to normal hai.
7) The tire changing scene - again, it was the angst between the two old friends that stood out. You could feel all the hurt and naraazgi swirling between them as Devraj rebuffed Vijay's attempts to lend him a hand with the tire. Shravan got blasted by his dad for trying to intervene....but Sumo prevailed for a bit. I was struck by the juxtaposition of two friendships - one old, one new....both swirling with emotions. With the fathers, it was a reproachful kind of hurt....and with the kids, it was an innocent sort of protectiveness for each other.
I once again liked that it wasn't a typical drama scene....yes, Devraj resisted Vijay's attempts to help him but he wasn't passing caustic comments either....it was just stubborn hurt. And I guess Devraj was almost giving in after his hand got hurt but his brother took him away - the brother definitely doesn't seem a fan of the Army crowd😆
Precap seems to indicate the "Time and space" scene is coming up - nice😆....I liked this one in the promo.
