Ek Naya Rishta
A must watch for Rekha fans... A modern day Umrao Jaan maybe 😊
Raj Kiran holds his own against the mighty Rekha who is playing a role she has played a million times before and gives a surprisingly sensitive performance in a very insensitive role
A warning to the “Woke” though, they might find the scene from 1:14:51 to 1:16:16 homophobic and offensive 😛
The movie I watched recently was Aquaman
East Side Sushi on Prime: It's the story of a single mother who fights against all odds to prove that she can become a sushi chef in a Japanese restaurant. She is ridiculed, even differentiated coz she is a Spanish speaking Mexican woman.
she competes in a Sushi masters competition to prove to her Japanese restaurant owner that she is ready.
Very inspiring and heartwarming story.
7/10
Jhinder Bondi (Prisoner of Jhind) (1961)
Story - Sharadindu Bandopadhyay
Dir - Tapan Sinha
Story (both - book and movie), Locations (Rajasthan), background score 👍🏼👍🏼
Your Honor was amazing and
Jimmy spectacular acting.
Great thriller.
Shit wrong thread 😆
I'm watching Karn Sangini now. 😳 And only because I'm mesmerized by Tejasswi Prakash. 😃
What a beauty!
PS: The show is not recommended at all.😆 I love watching it though.
I'm not good at keeping up with my movie updates.
The Feminist Edition
I recommend pairing these two shows with each other. Each rounds the other.
Mrs. America
The fact that this show about second-wave feminism focuses on the anti-feminist Phylis Schlafly makes it most interesting. A stellar cast comes together to create an ensemble of historically relevant characters.
Hillary
Hillary was a flawed candidate who lost her bid for the presidency due to the mistakes she made. But you can't deny some of the sexism and double standards. Clinton haters will not be won over. Hopefully, it provokes thought and discussion.

Mercy and Magic
They don't necessarily go together. But I needed to watch one after the other.
Just Mercy
A heartbreaking true story of the broken criminal justice system, systemic racism, and other issues.
Harry Potter Film Series
Reflections on revisiting the Harry Potter movies in a time where JK Rowling is canceled.

The Oeuvre of Basu Chatterjee
Binged some old classics after 2020 stole another legend from us. Go watch any of his movies though. They are the soul food we need for our times.
Khatta Meetha
One of my all-time favorite movies. A feel-good family film. I love the Parsi community setting.
Chit Chor
A billion times better than Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. The original is charming and relatable.
Rajnigandha
A surprisingly female-centric and feminist film in the early seventies. Also passes the Bechdel test.

Bonus
Eh. Don't watch a movie. Just watch 'Water Melon Sugar' for three hours straight. Gaze at the point of infinity and have winsome thoughts of frolicking on the beach. And ask yourself - what does watermelon taste like?
Feel free to discuss any movies you've recently watched. Link to previous thread !
