Chapter 15: Misunderstanding?

The worst distance between two people is a misunderstanding. It will stop us to see the truth but to believe the illusion as truth.

Lifeline Hospital

Arjun's painful scream invited everyone at the doorstep and Liza already managed to message the doctors during the car drive, so it was easy for them to admit Riya without any questions. After seeing the patient, the doctor instructed the ward boy to bring the necessary medical supplies to treat her. Soon the ward boy came with the stretcher with an oxygen cylinder. Arjun carefully made her lay on the stretcher and the doctor placed the oxygen mask on her face to give her external breathing support since she is unconscious with breathing difficulty and the top of that her pulse is low. They wheeled her towards the OT to do the necessary first aid before treating her completely.

Arjun, Rathod, and Sree are waiting outside the OT. At the same time Chotu, Ayesha, and Liza reached the hospital. Now Whole ETF clown is waiting outside of OT with bated breath and praying to God for Riya.

~After 15 mins~

Dr.Rudra came out of Riya's room and he looked at the ETF who is waiting for his answers. After seeing the doctor everyone ran towards him and the doctor could understand their inner turmoil.

"She has a pulse, but the virus is spreading rapidly so to avoid the spread we have to opt for blood purification and anti-viral therapy. We need an AB- blood donor before starting the blood transfusion and I feel we don't have enough bloodstock at the hospital so if possible can you guys arrange for it? "Dr.Rudra explained to them the treatment they are going to do with Riya.

"What? This is the biggest and reputed hospital in Mumbai and you guys are saying that you don't have enough blood. Are you freaking kidding us?"Rathod shouted in anger.

" I... I will give blood, my blood group matches with her" Arjun answered him with a blank face.

"Thank God. Please come with us!" The doctor sighed in relief and asked the nurse to lead Arjun to the lab for a blood test before the blood donation.

"Sh... She will be okay, right? " Chotu questioned him it was like a statement more than a question.

"Hope for the best. If Antiviral therapy is successful, she will be alright within one week till then just pray to God " Dr.Rudra assured them before leaving the place.

Everyone is looking at Arjun's retreating figure. Sree couldn't stand in that place so he left the place with tears in his eyes. Liza is looking him painfully, she doesn't know whether to follow him to console or leave him with his own misery. But she felt it's good to follow rather than making him dwell on the pain. So she just followed him, others feel it's necessary at the end. Chotu has stopped himself from following his best friend looking at Liza's concern face for Sree.

Rathod cleared his throat before talking because he feels the emotions are at his mouth and he couldn't recognize his own voice.

"Inform Riya's sister about Riya's condition. Ask them to come to India the next day itself " Rathod whispered looking at Chotu.

Ayesha and Chotu looked at him like ' how to convey this to her?'.

Rathod read them just like other days and muttered, "She has a right to know everything related to her younger sister and Riya will be okay. If you feel you can't tell her everything just tell her the half-truth or any story and make her come here.

Chotu and Ayesha nodded their head in acknowledgment. Chotu moved to the other side to call Pallavi.

~Other Corridor of the hospital ~

Sree is crying and wiping off his tears in the back of his hand while holding the specks. He saw that Liza is coming towards him with unshed tears. Liza moved close to him and laced her fingers with his fingers and held his hand tightly in her soft palm.

"She... She will survive right?" Sree whispered while looking at their intertwined hands with tears in his eyes.

"Yes.." Liza tried to lie but interrupted by Sree's firm voice.

"Don't try to lie at least to me, please." Sree pleaded her at the end.

Liza cleared her throat, " I can't keep you in the dark and I won't lie, if the antibiotic and antiviral therapy is successful she would be okay for sure. Pray to God that the blood transfusion should be successful"

Painful silence prevails in the room.

"You meant to say doctors can't save her?" Sree queried her in pain.

"You would always say right that doctors are not Mahan, so just trust in God and I feel she will be alright soon and very soon" Liza assured him while tightening her hold on his hand.

"If something happens to her what I will say to Pallavi Didi.? Arjun sir would break down completely and he is half-mad already looking at her now. I'm afraid of the consequences." Sree whispered under his breath.

"No, No stop thinking in a bad standpoint." Liza tried to assure visibly tensed Sree.

But it seems Sree is in the future and thinking about everything bad and crying out. In his trance, he hugged Liza tightly and making her startle for a min to process it. But she hugged him back with all the love in the world and whispered.

"Just believe in God, she will survive." She holds him in the same place and started rubbing his back to calm him down.

When it feels like eternity Sree comes out of the hug and looked at Liza with an unknown emotion in him.

"Thank you, Thank you, Liza. Your words meant a lot" Sree sincerely mumbled looking her straight in the eye.

"It's my pleasure " Liza smiled at him warmly and said, with a hint of satisfaction looking at his calm face. But the next question shocked her to the wits.

"Will be with me whenever I need you, Liza? Sree asked her directly.

" Huh?" Liza looked at him breathlessly

"As a friend?" Sree changed his words after reading her thoughts and disappointment in her eyes listening to his words.

"Always!" Liza assured him though she is a little unhappy because of his on-off mode.

Sree slightly smiled at her and they both are walking towards the OT to join with the team.

Back to outside OT

Arjun came back after giving blood and leaned on the wall with closed eyes. Others can understand the pain he is going through and no one has the guts to reassure him or they didn't know how to console the broken souls.

~After 4 hours~

Doctors come out of the OT with a worried expression. ETF crashed towards the doctor and they are waiting for doctors to speak.

"Antibiotic and antiviral therapy was successful and we had changed her blood, but " Dr.Rudra paused for a moment.

"But?" Arjun queried desperately.

"We can't assure you anything about her until she gains her consciousness. We have to wait for gaining consciousness if she gained within 2 to 3 days that would be good or else " Doctor nervously replied.

"Or else?" Ayesha questioned him.

"It can lead to anything and maybe we can't save her!" Dr.Rudra finally let the truth out.

Arjun is shaking his head left and right not believing the doctor's words.

"No.. No.. She will be okay. Do anything but save her. Do you want more money? How much? Just tell me I will transfer crores in the hospital's accounts, But I want her to be alive, that's all!" Arjun exclaimed in anger.

"We tried out best already, ACP. Let's wait for at least 1 day and let her gain conscious if not we will try different therapies." The doctor tried to make him understand.

Arjun is ready to bounce at the doctor to kill him with bare hands but Rathod held him tightly thus making Arjun angry. So he wriggles out of Rathod's clutches and dashed out of the place in anger.

"Can we meet her at least!" Liza asked the doctor.

"Sorry, not now, once she gets consciousness you guys can meet her later, as a doctor you know it's a virus related so she will be easily infected so let the medicines work till then let her rest" Doctor advised them.

"Save her please!" Choree cried together holding hands in front of the doctor.

"She is alright and it is just that she has to wake up soon, that's all, please calm down. Be strong for her " Saying Dr.Rudra left the place with pain looking at ETF.

Suddenly Choree hugged Rathod in a bear hug to get comfort from their senior or their big brother. Rathod held them firmly though they are crushing him under their weight still, he managed to hold them.

"Sir, she will wake up, right?" Choree inquired him like a kids.

"Of course, she will be. She has to wake up for her sister, for her friends, for her team and for HIM." Rathod whispered confidently.

A single tear rolled down on his left eye and he didn't attempt to wipe off.

Whoever said men shouldn't cry are either fools or idiots. Either they didn't know how to show emotions or they are afraid of showing emotions. It's necessary both for men and women to show emotions. It is good to cry sometimes to show the real emotions and let the pain out instead of keeping with the heart and trying to digest it.

Ayesha and Liza are watching the scene with clouded eyes, no matter what these two people always rely on Rathod and Arjun for any supports whether it's emotional or work-related. These two ACP's are ideal for them in every perspective. And Rathod smiled inwardly looking at his squad.

"Guys, It's okay. We are at the hospital so behave like mature persons and she will be okay" Rathod whispered to stop their crying.

Embarrassed Choree came out of the hug and looked here and there to avoid the shyness or fear because they hugged their boss without thinking that too in the hospital and cried in his arms like kids.

"You guys stay here, I will go and see Arjun" Rathod informed them and trying to spot Arjun nearby. They nodded their head and settled themselves on the sofa area.

~Other Corridor of the hospital ~

Arjun was punching the wall continuously making his already wounded hand bleed. Rathod finally saw him standing at the end of the corridor where Mr.Rawte seen Riya that night when Arjun was injured. Arjun felt Sameer presence behind him so stopped punching the wall aimlessly. Looking at his bleeding hand Rathod tried to pull his hand to see the wound, But Arjun is so adamant and pulled back his hand and fisted tightly to control the emotions, but the hand bleeds due to the pressure he is putting on it.

"You Were Right!" Arjun said in a hoarse voice and he couldn't believe his own voice due to crying.

Rathod looked at him perplexedly so Arjun turned his head to Rathod's side and looked straight into his eyes.

"That I can't make anyone happy in my life precisely the woman whoever loves me!" Arjun chuckled in a non-humorous tone.

Rathod looked hurt and he had realized how much his words hurt him deep down and the words hunting Arjun day and Night without his own knowledge.

"I'm Sorry Arjun, I was never intended to hurt you, but the situation made me act like a heartless person. I lost my only sister and I couldn't think rationally and I was blaming you at that time when I saw Roshini drenched with her own pool of blood"Rathod tried to explain his actions, though he regretted it badly when he realized his mistakes.

"Even I lost my wife and my baby, Sam. It's not you alone who lost your sister that day. Actually, it was I who lost everything in my life. My wife, my baby and my parents, though I love them and I have to stay away from them to save them and I lost myself that day the 'True Me' and I'm afraid of getting closer to people because I feel they are going to leave me on their own like you did it or they would be snatched away from me forcefully" Arjun whispered under his breath and his brown orbs are filled with tears and threatening to fall.

Both of them stood silently without uttering a word, the air is so tensed due to the emotions revelations but Arjun broke the silence.

"This is the reason I always pushed Riya away from me. I knew if something happens to her I can't live peacefully. Certainly, It will be like a living dead body breathing without emotions. I'm afraid I would be alone, Sam. What if we cannot save her?" Arjun inquired in pain.

"No.. No.. Nothing would happen to her, She would be okay. You aren't alone. We are all with you. I'm with you always. Please forgive me, I had hurt you with my words and actions when you need your best friend. But now I need my best friend back just like the way I had met him 6 years ago when Roshini introduced me. I'm ready to go any length to get my friend back, but I want my Arjun back" Rathod literally pleaded him with tears.

Arjun is listening to Rathod's apologies in silence. It always rare in history Sameer accepts his deed and asks for forgiveness openly. Both looked at each other with tears in eyes, and both knew certainly this is the chance to forgive each other and move on in their life. Because a true friend is always like a backbone in life. Rathod without any hesitation hugged Arjun.

"I'm sorry Arjun for everything I did in the past. I never knew this would hurt you to this extent that you are afraid of moving on with life. I'm really sorry." Rathod whispered while tears roll down.

"It's okay, Sam. I can understand your pain and you were right in your perspective" Arjun supported his actions, making Rathod in delight accepting his sorry.

"Riya's side effects" Rathod smiled inwardly because Arjun forgiving him and top of that supported his actions and opposite of his nature and accepting people who distanced from him.

They both come out of the hug with a hint of a smile amidst the problem going on in their life still, little happy that they got their friends back. Rathod noticed his wound on the hand and made a face for his carelessness at the same time a nurse was passing by with some medical equipment so Rathod stopped her and got the first aid box to clean Arjun's wounds. Rathod dragged Arjun to the nearby chair area and made him sit forcefully to treat his injury.

"I'm alright, Leave me, Sam" Arjun tried to withdraw his hand back.

"Shut up" Sameer glared at him hard for his reckless behavior and started to clean the wound. He cleaned the wound with a cotton dipped in the split and applied Neosporin, but Arjun does not even flinch for a bit. It seems the physical wound is frivolity compared to his heart wounds.

"You love her right from the beginning?" Rathod questioned him while tying the medical tape around his hand.

Arjun looked here and there to avoid the question and Rathod's piercing gaze. Rathod smiled softly like he knew everything.

"Don't run away from your feelings and You had almost confessed everything to her when she lost consciousness. Don't make her wait more and this won't be good for you as well. I feel Arjun needs Riya in his life more than Riya needs Arjun in her life. I knew you might feel, I'm intervening in your life unnecessarily, but I really want my friend to be happy in true sense. I promise your life will be so good if you accept her"Rathod sincerely said.

Arjun is hesitant to reply and looked down at his hand which now covered with medical tape.

"Aren't you feel angry that I'm moving on in my life forgetting Rosh?" Arjun whispered guiltily.

Sameer looked at her murderously for his stupid thoughts and banged his hand on his head like 'is he an idiot?'.

"Are you freaking out of mind, ACP?. Why would I do that? Everyone moved on in their life after Roshini's death. My parents and your parents even I moved on in my life, except 'YOU' Arjun. It has been just you not willing to move on in your life and standing in the same place where she left you. Do you really think Roshini would be happy after seeing you in misery, Nope she won't be at all. And about my concern, I cannot explain my happiness in words. I will be the happiest person if you accept Riya and move on in your life"Sameer smiled through his tears and whispered.

"I didn't know" Arjun masked his true feelings once again.

"You didn't know or You don't want to realize your love for her or You don't want to tell me this?" Sameer smirked at him.

Arjun is silent and he doesn't know how to reply to this question, though he knows the answer and he can't voice out loud.

"Wow, This must be in history!" Rathod smiled mischievously to ease the tension of Arjun.

"That the great ACP Arjun Suryakant Rawte is speechless and he doesn't know how to reply back his ETF Chief then it should be in the history right?" Rathod raised his eyebrows looking at Arjun's confused face.

Arjun made a grumpy face and muttered," I thought I was talking to my friend, not ETF's chief!"

Rathod laughed out loud for his childish comments soon Arjun too joined the laughing session.

"Tea?" Rathod asked him.

"No, I want to meet her!" Arjun denied his offers and started to walk towards CCU.

"But she is.."Before he could complete Arjun already left the place.

Rathod sighed loudly because of Arjun's adamant nature, so he just followed him.

Outside CCU

Ayesha, Liza, and Choree are sitting in the sofa area and they see Arjun come in full speed towards them before the others could stop he is already in Riya's room. Rathod was running behind to halt him, but seeing him already in the room, he turned his head and joined others who are looking at him confused.

" Let him meet her and we can't stop him even if we want to and it's better if he sees her, he might be relaxed."Rathod supported him.

Others nodded their head understandingly.

"Chotu, When Riya's family coming here?" Rathod queried him.

"They have already boarded the flight and they will be here tomorrow afternoon" Chotu responded to him.

"Have you... have you told her everything?" Rathod asked him expectantly.

"Yes, sir, I don't have any option because she is not leaving the matter lightly and the top of that she is a doctor, and if we try to hide anything, it won't be good for us so I told her the truth." Chotu justified his actions.

Rathod hummed in response and sit in the couch along with everyone.

~Inside Riya's room~

Arjun feels his eyes are burning up, and the feeling of losing her makes him breathless. Her delicate face is covered with an oxygen mask and all sorts of medical wires are attached to her body and IV is injected in her right hand along with oximeter clipped on her ring finger to show her heartbeats. He understood her pain when she had seen him in the hospital bed one month back. Arjun moved towards her bed slowly and hold her hand tightly in his hard palm and kissed her hand softly.

"Please wake up! Doctors are saying something, but I can't believe that. I didn't know how to make this erratic heartbeat to calm down. I feel you are slipping away from me. Wake up and tell me this is a mirage, but you are the truth, the ultimate truth in my life. Please" Arjun moaned in pain.

"Don't make me a weak person again and I'm scared of this loneliness you are creating by going away from me, so please wake up. I will be waiting for you to wake up." Arjun mumbled under his breath and holding her hand tightly and started stroking her hair softly to ease her physical pain.

When he feels that he can't stay in this room for a long time started to move before that he kissed Riya's forehead tightly and left the room without turning back. Once he reached the corridors, he slumped on the chair which is placed outside like he lost the battle as he was defeated by some unknown demons.

Next day afternoon.

Everyone is still at the hospital and they haven't moved from the place from yesterday. During this time Arjun got a call from his father to know about Riya's health condition and even he insisted to visit the hospital but Arjun firmly denied him pointing out security and infection reasons. Without any option, his father agreed with him. It was around 3.00 PM on the next day, A couple in the early '30s along with a girl with Riya's age approached them. Choree recognized the couple as Riya's elder sister and brother in law, but they couldn't recognize the other girl who had accompanied them. Those three people running towards them and it seems both the girls had cried a lot looking at their tear stricken face with under-eye bags. Even the man seems to control himself not to cry in front of others.

"Pallavi Didi" Choree whispered in anxiety.

"Where is she? Is she woke up? What did the doctor say? " Pallavi started to throw questions at them.

Everyone is silent and it's making them panic about Riya.

"She hasn't gained consciousness now!" Arjun replied to her but he didn't meet her eyes.

Pallavi started to cry hysterically and the other two members tried to console her.

"Please Didi, Don't cry!" The girl tried to make her understand.

"How can I? You know how much she is important in my life after my parents, Dhivya. If anything happens to her what will I do?" Pallavi cried.

"Sshh, Please calm down, let's meet the doctor now and we can ask them about Riya's condition" Aditya suggested to her.

The two girls agreed with him and moved to the doctor's cabin. The ETF has a mild idea about Riya's family except for the new girl Dhivya.

Next day Night 10 PM

Everyone is waiting outside including ETF with Riya's family. Pallavi and Dhivya are noticing something unusual about Arjun and his odd behavior, though everyone worried about Riya, his behavior seems too personal and looking at his blank face something is definitely wrong. Whenever the Doctor crossed the CCU, he would question them and sometimes screams them in anger. Even they had seen him pulling out his hair in frustration and banging the wounded hand on the wall whenever Doctors had told him that Riya hasn't gained her consciousness. Dhivya studies his face and she fathomed his madness, but she didn't question him and she just watches him doing everything in these 32 hours.

Inside the Riya room

Doctors are checking her pulse and monitoring the heartbeats suddenly Riya started to move her fingers slightly and trying to open her eyes with difficulty. Doctors and the nurses are happy to see her responding to the medicines soon.

"That's good, Please try to open your eyes slowly, Ms.Riya, " Dr.Rudra encouraged her.

Riya with all the force opened her eyes and tried to adjust her visuals in the bright room.

"Doc...Doctor?" Riya questioned him in a throaty voice.

"Yes, Ms.Riya.You are in the hospital after gulped down the virus ball. You're out of danger, we had done a blood transfusion so don't worry, Your family and ETF are waiting outside to meet you eagerly "Dr.Rudra explained her everything in a calm voice.

The virus, Family, and ETF are ringing in her mind again and again until it stops at Arjun.

~Riya's POV~

She remembers the way she had forced Arjun to marry her in the death bed and forcing him to convey his love to her even though he doesn't like her.

" I shouldn't have forced him like that! I claim to love him so much, but I forced him emotionally how could I do that? When did I start to become a selfish girl who doesn't care about other's feelings? True love doesn't expect anything in return. When I don't have him in my life I longed for his presence and finally, I got a chance to meet him daily but I forced him to marry me!. God, what I have done to Arjun?" Riya cried silently.

She tried to bang her hand to head to show the awkwardness she created both for herself and Arjun. Wetness dampened her cheeks in guiltiness and top of that, she didn't listen to his confessions adding to the fuel to her clouds of doubts.

"I should stay away from him and I shouldn't have done that if he truly loves he would have confessed not just tied the chain around my neck" Her heart cried.

"You shouldn't take decisions when you're sad, and you didn't listen to him fully And top of that you were unconscious so he might have told you something"Her mind supported Arjun first time.

" He didn't tell me anything, heck he doesn't even love me at all. I'm just a burden on him and I proved it by forcing to marry me at the car desperately "Her heart shuts her rational mind.

" Without knowing the truth either speaking or deciding something is not a wise idea. Just once talk to him and stay away from him if he rejects you again!" Her mind tried to convince her.

But when the doubts and misunderstandings spread in the heart it would be difficult to clear the air and most of the time it will make them a blind and stop to see the truth which is in front of them.

"I have decided to let him free as the way he wants and it's final " her heart answered back.

"So you set him free from your marriage as well?" Her mind whispered back in anger.

Riya frantically nodded her head and She doesn't know how to reply to this question so she clutched the chain tightly as her life depended on it. Softly tears rolled down on her cheeks.

Dr.Rudra and the head nurse surprised looking at her tears.

"Oh, my brave lady. Don't cry. You are a survivor, you should be proud of yourself saving Mumbai people and ETF. Don't cry, let me call your family and friends who are waiting for you, and you will be completely cured within a month and I would try to discharge you within 1 week" Dr.Rudra cheered up.

Riya smiled politely and mumbled, "Thank you". She wiped off her tears with the back of her left hand.

Before calling everyone inside the room, Dr.Rudra runs through some tests, and the head nurse started to write down on the patient's notebook. Once they were confirmed that no spread of the virus and other essentials tests they dashed out of the room to call the family and ETF.

" Officer Riya is awake!"Dr.Rudra said in all smiles.

Pallavi, Arjun, and Dhivya are almost rushed towards the Doctor hearing the good news.

"Yes, Ms. Riya has gained consciousness and she is out of danger " Dr.Rudra added more.

"Thank you, doctor. We can't say out thankfulness in words, Dr.Rudra" Aditya sincerely thanked him.

"It's our duty, Dr.Aditya and you knew it. We could discharge her within 1 week. I don't need to tell you guys instructions so just take care of her and yeah, next time please tell her the difference between chocolate and virus balls she seems to be confused in both" Dr.Rudra teased Riya with a hint of mischievousness to ease the tension and making the atmosphere joyfully.

"Sure we will!" Pallavi chuckled softly.

Others also smiled inwardly listening to the doctor's last part.

"You guys can meet her after shifting her to the normal ward and Don't go everyone at a period, because she is still fragile to infection " Dr.Rudra advises them before leaving the place with the head nurses.

"Didi, Go and meet her. And please give her earful" Choree told her.

Arjun controlled himself in front of everyone how desperately he wants to see her flesh and blood to calm down his raging heart. But he does know family is first not him.

"Sure, I will teach her lesson." Pallavi craned her neck towards them and smiled mischievously in happiness.

Inside Riya's room

Riya is lying down on the hospital bed and deep in her thoughts that she hasn't realized the interrupter in the room. Looking at her gloomy face trio felt bad for her.

"Ahem" Dhivya cleared her throat to bring her back to the earth from her dreamlands.

When someone coughed fakely that caught Riya's attention to them.

"Didi, Jiju, and Dhivya. When did you come here? And How are you?"Riya asked softly and motioned her Jiju to adjust the bed so that she can sit.

" But you're still fragile!" Aditya tried to protest her but she nodded her head negatively.

He made a face, but still, he adjusted the bed using the buttons and made her sit comfortably in the bed placing pillows behind her back for support.

"Mad lady, who had asked you to gulp down that virus ball?. You had really thought that was your favorite chocolate cake that gulped down in a single shot. Madam admitted at the hospital and just touched the death, but asking us 'how are you?'. God, someone put some sense into her dumb head, please " Dhivya screamed in anger but tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Leave Dhivya. We are no one to her that's why she forgot that she has a family and friends and gulped down the virus to sacrifice her life" Pallavi taunted her.

"I'm sorry Didi. That time I felt this is the only alternative to save Mumbai people and ETF when they were at gunpoint "Riya justified her actions.

" Leave it ladies and don't make her tensed " Aditya cut short the ladies.

"Don't do this next time, please and how are you feeling now? " Aditya asked her while stroking her hair softly.

"A bit tired but I'm good, Jiju" Riya whispered softly.

Pallavi and Dhivya literally pushed Aditya from Riya and hugged her softly without crushing her and cried. He mentally rolled his eyes looking at the crying session just before they were eating her head with questions but now embracing her softly to show their affection.

"Ladies and their mood swings" Aditya muttered under his breath.

"I'm alright please both of you stop crying!" Riya voiced with tears.

After some time both of them left her and cleaned their faces.

"We will come later because your team is waiting outside!" Aditya said thoughtfully.

Riya hummed in response and Pallavi and Aditya left the room because Dhivya told them 2 mins before calling ETF here.

"Are you sure that no pain or dizziness, Riya?" Dhivya queried her doubtfully.

"Nope, I'm fit except some tiredness!" Riya assured her once again.

"And I saw Arjun" Dhivya looked her for a reaction.

But Riya's face is barren of any emotions like a white sheet even after listening to Arjun's name.

"He seems to be so broken inside!" Dhivya added more, but Riya didn't react the way she wanted instead she behaved in a close of behavior making Dhivya suspicious.

"Is everything alright between you both? Any problem? " Dhivya suspected.

"No.No....its just hospital sick " Riya lied her convincingly.

"If you say so okay. The ETF is desperate to meet you precisely your hero " Dhivya teased her as usual.

"Then send them!" Riya giggles softly to tease her back.

"Desperate to meet your hero and I knew you would choose him again and again over me!" Dhivya wiped her fake tears.

"Mad" Riya mumbled.

"Always!" Dhivya answered back in pride.

"Take care and I will join you soon till then meet ETF!" Dhivya dashed out of the room to call out ETF.

Once Dhivya informed them that Riya is waiting to meet them, they literally had run to meet her. After entering the room everyone is silent and not speaking a word. Choree and ladies engulfed her in a bear hug seeing her. Arjun and Rathod are watching everything silently and Arjun fisted both the hands tightly to control the anger, pain, and fear because of her stupid stunt. After 5 times of crying sessions, everyone left her and she is looking at everyone except Arjun making him feel rejected once again.

"You shouldn't have done that when Arjun Sir was yelling at you not to gulp down that virus ball" Chotu scolded her.

"Yes, what if something had happened to you?" Ayesha questioned her.

"If Arjun sir hadn't donated the blood the therapy would have taken more time and the possibility of your cure would have been less, Thank God everything went well " Sree gave her a piece of information.

Still, Riya hasn't looked up to see him instead started to fiddle her fingers in nervousness. The reason is known to Choree, Rathod, and Arjun. Sree had told everything to Chotu whatever happened in the car.

Rathod strode towards Riya's bed and fondly touched her hair like a big brother.

"Let's forget everything. Don't pull this kind of stunt next time. Take care of yourself!" Rathod tried to order her firmly but his voice doesn't support him this time because it choked with emotions it the end.

Riya smiles through tears in her eyes and agreed with him.

"You will be on medical leave until you cure completely " Rathod ordered her this time truly.

He paused for a moment.

"You're so important to many people's lives so don't waste it, Riya" Rathod indirectly told her about Arjun's confession.

"Sure Sir!" Riya agreed with him.

Riya thought he was talking about her family because never Arjun was so open about his feelings towards her. When everyone felt Arjun wasn't talking and Riya is not even looking at him they walked out of the room after asking her to take care leaving Ariya alone.

Arjun tried to walk towards her bed but Riya indicated him to stop by showing her front of the right hand.

"St...STOP!"Riya whispered in a choked voice.

"Riya?" Arjun questioned her confused and started to move one step forward towards her.

"STOP" More firmly this time.

Arjun rooted in his place hearing her rude voice without any emotions.

"I'm sorry!" Riya cried but not looking at him.

"But for what?" Arjun questioned her desperately.

"For this!" Riya showed him the chain which is adorning her neck with pride.

"Listen to me once, Riya" Arjun tried to clear her misconception

"Leave the room, Arjun" Riya ordered him crying loudly now.

"Please don't cry!" Arjun pleaded her.

"I said leave the room right now, right at this moment, Arjun " Riya yelled back in pain.

She thinks Arjun is going to apologize for his deeds and going to ask her to return the chain. And he would say that he had done everything to save her not out of love. She doesn't want her to hear him and his explanations at all, at least not now.

"Don't make me guilty! Leave the room, Arjun" Riya whispered under her breath and completely turned her head away from him when she had seen his bandaged hand.

"But Why?" Arjun whispered in pain

"I don't want your explanations and I knew your answers!" Riya screamed in pain.

"You knew nothing, Riya!" Arjun yelled back in pain.

"So let it be in the same way, Arjun!" Riya whispered.

Arjun looked at her with tears and he really wants to hug and confess her feelings, but looking at her madness he has refrained from doing so and he doesn't have any idea why she is behaving this way? When he had confessed to her, she was not in sense and when he truly wants to confess her feelings she is not ready to listen to him at all.

"Leave" Riya mumbled looking at her hand.

"Look at my eyes and tell me this and I will go happily!" Arjun challenged her because he knew she won't do that, but she did exactly what he had asked her to do.

Riya moved her gaze from her hand and looked at Arjun's brown eyes, which are glistening with tears and muttering all the courage she shouted, "Leave the room, Arjun. And Stay away from me".

Arjun nodded his head and looked at her black orbs with love. Tears slipped through his left eye making Riya turned her head away from Arjun and she bit her lower lip not to cry in front of him.

"Take care " Arjun dashed out of the room because he feels he can't control if he stays more than a min over there and the anger would overpower him messing up their lives and he doesn't want that to happen. Once he was out of the room the tears started rolling down without control.

The ETF could fathom what might have conspired in the room, but the reason is unknown. On the other hand, the trio looked at him confused.

After 3 days.

The ETF was with them for the first three days. After that, they had to leave because of duty calls, but they visited Riya at the hospital on a daily basis even in the midnight. Whenever ETF came to meet her Riya would talk to everyone in the room except Arjun. During the initial days, he had thought that she is angry due to some unknown reason, but looking at her determination Arjun kept his mouth closed.

During the visit whenever Arjun tried to talk to her or explains anything to her Riya had avoided him like a disease and ignored him completely making him hurt. Whenever he comes towards her, she would either avoid him or pretends to sleep, though she had wakened up from the deep slumber just a sec ago. After 3 days Arjun had stopped visiting her thinking that this would make her happy without him. Others had noticed her indifference behavior with Arjun but they couldn't ask her at the same time the reasons are unknown to others. During this one week stay at the hospital, Mr & Mrs.Rawte paid her visit twice and mingled with Riya's family nicely.

After 1 week

The next days onwards ETF visited her except Arjun. Arjun's absence making Riya sad and gloomy. She started to look at her hospital room's door longingly for Arjun's arrival. When she had confirmed that Arjun is not going to meet her, she started to give a tough time to both Pallavi and Dhivya in everything right from the food, medicines, and sleeping time. She thought staying away from Arjun is easy and she can do that, but when you have something with you which keeps on reminding you of the person's presence always how it is possible to forget somebody?. And the platinum chain attached with a letter 'A' to remind her Arjun constantly at her when it touches her skin.

When nobody is watching her, she would clutch the metal piece tightly in her palms and looks at the door expectantly for Arjun's arrival. Even Pallavi, Aditya, and Dhivya have seen her gazing at the chain with glistening eyes and she pretends to avoid Arjun but when he didn't come with ETF she has started waiting for him like a madwoman and making the suspicious grow in their minds. Dhivya does know about Arjun but she is not aware of their fights and the duo is out of clue about her sudden mood change. She wants to meet him at the same time doesn't want him to force. Like she is in double mind and her heart and mind started the war.

Today she is going to discharge from the hospital so the ETF at the hospital except for Arjun. After completing the formalities Doctors discharged her with all the medications. Everyone thought both Arjun and Riya are avoiding each other, precisely Arjun from Riya's family perspective, but they didn't know that Arjun is always at the hospital that too on the same floor but never visited her afraid of her blunt rejections. He convinced Dr.Rudra, so he has updated about Riya's health on a daily basis without fail even the minor details about her. When he knew her friends might come back at any time he would leave to his mansion with a heavy heart, this happened for the past 4 to 5 days.

ETF waved bye to Riya and her family and left for their respective home after Riya's discharge.

At Riya's home

Pallavi, Aditya, Dhivya, and Riya reached the home. Once she enters the lobby Riya made the way to her bedroom and others looking at her retreating figure in confusion. Pallavi gave a look to Dhivya to ask the matter, but Dhivya shrugged her shoulders like no idea. Pallavi started to prepare lunch after refreshing up and Aditya helped her in the kitchen. Dhivya is sitting in the hall after freshening up and waiting for Riya to come down after bathing, When Riya was not turned up here she strode towards Riya's room in annoyance.

~Riya's bedroom~

Dhivya entered her room in anger due to Riya's withdrawal behavior for the past two days, but looking at the sight made her cry. Riya is lying down on her stomach on the bed and a muffled sob escaped that could be heard in the completely silent room. Dhivya slowly moved towards her and touched Riya's shoulder to make her feel her presence in the empty room. Riya looked up from the bed and wiped off her tears in hurriedly and sat on the bed facing Dhivya's confused face.

"Why are you crying? What happened? Any problem with Arjun?" Dhivya questioned her in a panic tone.

"I told Arjun to stay away from me!" Riya whispered under her breath.

"You said What to Arjun?" Dhivya looked at her in confusion.

"To stay away from me or in the other words I pushed Arjun away from my life!" Riya answered not meeting her eyes.

"But Why? Are you freaking gone nuts? What has gotten into you, Riya? He is coming closer to you and he is desperate to meet you, but you just pushed him! Do you know how foolish is this?" Dhivya exclaimed in anger.

"Because I forced him to marry me, Dhivya!" Riya shouted back in anger and cried.

When Dhivya looked at her more confused by her words, Riya showed her the chain which is lying on her neck and symbolizing her marriage with Arjun constantly.

"When did this happen?" Dhivya asked in a breathless tone.

"In the car just before I had lost the consciousness" Riya cleared her doubts.

"Care to explain?" Dhivya shouted in annoyance.

Riya explained everything that had happened that day and how she asked Arjun to marry her as a last wish, her confession, and her unconsciousness before hearing his reply. The entire time Dhivya kept quiet and listening to her carefully. At the end of the speech, Riya cried softly and Dhivya looked at her with tears

"So you didn't listen to him, right? Dhivya calmly asked.

"No!"

"Then how can you so sure that he had rejected you or he didn't want you in his life ?" Dhivya threw her questions and raised her eyebrows at Riya.

"Because he was never to mine to call it off! He always loved her and always will love her only not me!. Whatever he did the car just to save me nothing else, otherwise when I met him that day in his home, he should have stopped me when I told him that 'I Let him go' but he didn't do that and if he truly wants me in his life he never waits till I forced him to confess and marry him. It's so evident that he doesn't love me, Dhivya. I'm just mad falling for him again and again, even though he is pushing me away." Riya yelled at the end.

"Why don't you tell him everything from the beginning? Just once tell him everything and I'm damn sure he would understand and accept your marriage as well" Dhivya suggested her.

"True love never forces anyone. I claim to love him but here I'm forcing him to love me back. What kind of love is this, Dhivya?. Love and affection should be given without any expectation and it's not for sale. If you give something and I will return something." Riya whispered.

"God, you both are idiots especially you, Riya, and Playing games with each other life unknowingly. I didn't know what to say?"Dhivya shouted in anger.

"I'm feeling sleepy. I want to rest, Dhivya" Riya mumbled to avoid her confrontation.

Dhivya made her lay down on the bed. Once she was sure Riya slept, she started searching for the keys of her wardrobe. After 5 mins of searching, she found the keys, she opened the wooden door of the wardrobe and took hold of Riya's old diary along with some letters. She knew everything about Riya's home and her personal items. In fact, this diary was written by Riya when Dhivya was with her several years ago and that day Dhivya teased her a lot for using this old idea to express her love.

"I'm sorry, Riya. I don't have any option but to tell everything to Arjun about you and your love for him. You deserve happiness in your life, and I cannot see you dwelling in the pain always, and I feel Arjun has all the right to know everything about you and it's high time so he should know the truth about you. If possible forgive me. I'm going to knock some sense into Arjun's head because you had pushed him away for one day and he agreed with you easily, How could he do that? And can't stay away from you, always. What about your pain whenever he had pushed you? So I'm going to meet him now, to tell the truth," Dhivya caressed Riya's head and wiped off her tears and covered her with a blanket before leaving the room.

At the hall

Dhivya knows how to reach Arjun's mansion because Riya told her that Arjun is starting to live with his parents in his mansion when he was injured, and it's not a big problem to find his Rawte's mansion in Mumbai. Pallavi and Aditya looked at Dhivya when she was fully ready to go out with her handbag.

"Didi and Jiju, I will be back within 2 hours and Riya is sleeping in her room." Dhivya already out of the apartment before they could stop her.

Once she came off the apartment boarded the cab to Rawte's mansion.

I knew I'm late this time as a well for the update, I'm sorry for that. Another part of Riya's past will be revealed in the next part.

I do know about the medical complexity in virus case and the survival is less most of the times but I'm writing everything for the imagination and it can't be true always it depends on the severity of the virus and so many medical complexities underlying with it. So please don't expect logic in Riya's survival. I hope you would like this chapter.
