The Academy deliberately made this sponsorship model so that elites invite their other elite friends. If they wanted to get random people, they would just choose those random people themselves. They deliberately created this process so that elites people get their friends and associates into the Academy.

Many times Academy awards have been called racist for ignoring the work of Latinos and Blacks. Many oscars go to whites. Acadamy awards are controlled by big media houses and production houses in USA.
