She is should be. I mean why not?

She was head producer of the team and if a film flops it's producer's responsibilty to accept the failure and pay back the losses distributors may have incurred. Did she??

She acted well but there was no sincerity in the portrayal. In movies like this subject matter doesn't really matter, when screenplay is uniform without much highs and lows and if it demands audience's attention it's actor's job to hold the attention of the viewer. Actors job is just not to act but also to contribute overall well being of the film, Which she didn't. She should have creatively been involved in the film making process and looked carefully how film has shaped up. Which she didn't . She thought chhapaak is a lucrative deal to make a perfect comeback after a gap, but it backfired. Not everyone is Alia to make Meghna Gulzaar film work.

She is a robotic actress, I personally do not think she has the acting chops for such a role or any role really.

That being said, she is not the only person to blame. The movie, I heard, did no justice to the subject matter it was meant to portray.

No offense. Deepika didnt make me feel bad for the character. I was watching Tripti the other day I wanted to kill Rahul's character for forcing on her. Even though he was a mentally challenged person. Still the scene made me want to kill him. I cheered for her when she answered back Binodini in a kick ass way. I didnt feel that same connect with Deepika in Chapak. And I do feel she is somewhat mechanical. You can see her thinking and feel her trying to act. She isn't the character onscreen completely.

It has snapped, it won't go up again. The aura was too weak that people now act like she's irrelevant.

Umm bad writing and bad direction can affect any actor's performance. What shocks me is Megha Gulzaar quality of writing and direction went so down with one movie. 😕

If memory serves me right I think she once listed the Chapak “look” as one of her fav makeup looks 🤔

i see....so jazbaa, MPKD, kalank, yada...bad writing and bad direction.

Megha also did Raazi; i guess that was good writing and good direction and bad acting.
