The rights are time bound. For larger programs, With all studios starting their own streaming service, Netflix is going to lose more and more content. For smaller programs, it may not simply be worth it to renew the rights, if no one watches it.

Last year they were constantly shoving Disney's catalog on people, so they watch it multiple times before Disney+'s launch. Same with Friends.
