She could have framed it better if she wanted to convey her message.

what is this statement

" Repeat after me"

why should anyone repeat after her, is she a teacher? or thinks she can dictate her fans ...

I was never her fan but I didn't like the "repeat after me" Jaap

Deepika is dumb but she thinks she is smart and that makes for a lethal combination. I defended her at first because guiding people toward mental health was right instead of being on a blame spree. But now she is going overboard. Why is she making meaningless posts everyday and not even acknowledging Sushant once with his name? If she wasn't posting on social media everyday, it would be fine if she didn't mention Sushant. But she is pointing everyday towards depression in his wake without even naming him.

Also what are her dumb quotes supposed to do? How is depression like cancer? People with cancer don't want to die and in spite of fighting hard, death is inevitable in most cases. Death is not inevitable in depression and it can be managed with the right treatments and support.

Why doesn't she post actual, practical help? Give phone numbers of suicide hotlines and links to support groups. She is so privileged that she doesn't realize most depressed people want help but can't get it because they can't afford the doctors. If it's a question of putting food on the table or going to a therapist, people have to choose food. If there are doctors willing to do some work with patients for free, give their names and addresses so depressed people can reach out to them. Give some free help through her foundation and get people to apply through her website.

Stop all this performative activism.

I'm truly a lot behind in Bolly statements. She actually said that make me see her in a different light with an ignorant halo around her🤦

Do you guys have any idea how triggering it can be for a depressed person to hear about suicides and even the mention of taking life, I hate speculating but this could very well be the reason why he took his life too(after his PR's death)

It will take no time for people reading about it to follow the Course. THIS IS SERIOUS!!

She is spreading the much needed awareness about depression and this is VERY IMPORTANT. People are really ignorant about metal diseases and it is clear from the comments here why more people need to read/learn about it.

Anyways, super proud of Deepika. Go gurl!

There is a time and place for everything. If a cancer victim dies, will a cancer survivor go to social media and post "as a person with lived experience blah blah blah here are some tips on how to beat cancer"? That's what she did within a few hours of SSR's passing. There is not even a passing mention of Sushant. She knew him and met him. That's why her posts look very performative and an act of wanting to insert herself into the conversation.

The thing is is there any proof that Sushant stigmatized depression? That he did he not treat as an illness? In fact he did everything that doctors ask of a depression patient. He sought treatment, got medication, went to therapy, he opened up about this with his sisters and friends, exercised, meditated, wrote a journal, pursued his hobbies like reading and astrophysics. Pretty sure to have followed a good diet too. He even had bought a waterfront house in Lonavala amidst nature to spend time away from the stresses of modern life. He recognized what was important for him and set aside time to pursue his passions in peaceful surroundings. He fought and fought.

So what went wrong? Something inside him fell apart despite doing everything. It is far more complicated than repeating "depression is an illness". That's what is so annoying about her posts. It kind of screams - if only these people had treated this as a mental illness...

In the last couple of years I have read of at least 3/4 Hindi TV serial actors killing themselves. Hindi TV has a wide audience and the actors are widely known and loved. If her sole motivation was to highlight the importance of depression to Indians, she didn't choose to speak up then. That's why it is difficult to believe that "she wont put up a fake mourning post like others but instead focus on educating the masses". This educating the masses act is not working for me.

She is truly being a pathetic human being. If she was a criminal then it would have been easier but she devoid of any empathy or emotion. Is everything a game to you? You are old enough to be married, to have children. Anyway I have spent my life defending her against everything here but this is the end. Never again I will defend her as she doesn’t align with my values. If death doesn’t stop you in your attention seeking behaviour then nothing will, nothing will ever stop you. Hopefully when your career is over and you get old, if you still have your soul, you won’t regrets everything you did for fame.

I am surprised I was fine with her saying it on first day but now with this repeat after me eveeyday she is sounding condescending and typical attention seeker.

Tbh she should quit being a flag bearer it's not in her skillset to lead a public cause. For that one person has to be articulate and expressive.. instead her "repeat after me" is making me frown. 🤢
