That's all Indians are capable of. Unfollow people on social media, down vote movies on IMDb and Book My Show, trend negative hashtags on twitter. Nobody will blame themselves for not watching his films, Not appreciating him enough. They all suddenly started to care because he had to sacrifice his life for y'all to understand he was talented, he was good.
We will never learn unless we begin accept we have gone wrong. We are too much influenced by what people write on sm , and use very little of our brain. Industry didn't support him but audience neither.
This I agree with to an extent but I'd like to add that in the time that we live in, relevancy as a celebrity is highly based on visibility which is why all these stupid airport looks, gym looks, fake relationships, blinds, etc started. The more they are talked about, the more curiosity it ignites in the audiences mind. Out of sight eventually turns into out of mind. Sushant wasn't really visible outside his work or rather wasn't given opportunities/luxury to be more visible. Sushant only truly made appearances during his films. Beyond that, he remained an incredibly low key guy and a huge part of that reason being he was never truly accepted by the industry and was excluded from almost everything they could exclude him from. He isn't a star kid, he doesn't mingle with industry insiders, had negative blinds written about him very frequently, criticized for basicly everything EXCEPT his acting. He wasn't someone to start a PR battle either. I can see how frustration can build up.
I also think that people should really call out YRF for single-handedly bringing him down, costing him his time and projects. Aditya Chopra is a scum. He just gets away with so much of it. Imagine making actors like Anushka and Vaani so insecure that they destroy their faces when he is an ugly asshole himself. Allowing Ranveer to do Ram-Leela but denying Sushant to take it by binding him contractually just cuz Ranveer was close to Shanoo Sharma and more of an insider than he ever led on. Imagine if Sushant did Ram-Leela instead of Byomkesh Bakshi? Maybe he would've had the stardom Ranveer has today. Out of his filmography, his only failures have been Byomkesh Bakshi and Raabta. SonChidiya was highly acclaimed critically. Imagine if he wasn't replaced in Aashiqui 2 & Half Girlfriend by nepo-kids or Aditya Haraami Chopra allowed him to do Ram-Leela?!
