Movies are all about preferences. Some people enjoy art films others action films. Some people love chick flicks others are more history junkies.
I know in terms of personal preference, I really like how the love development phase is nice and slow in Jodha Akbar. As someone who enjoys angst in the romance, I loved seeing Akbar get enamored and mesmerized by Jodha over and over again. The way he is lurking around watching her when she is freeing the birds makes me swoon.
In MEA its more love at first sight. I guess that is romantic too. But the rest the movie is about how they tragically couldn't end up together because she didn't have the status to become a queen. There were fewer romantic scenes. I guess to the cinematically educated intellectual eye it was the better film with better writing. Most tried to give it the respect it deserves. But personal preference almost always plays a role in terms of favorite movies.
Mughal-E-Azam cause it had a hidden subtext of love triangle
Akbar wanted the girl for himself and cock blocked his son 😆
Jodha Akbar by miles.
I felt like I was stuffing my mouth with cheese watching Bajirao Mastani. I still have to fan my face to ease my embarrassment of watching Mastani hug Bajirao out of pain when he places the heated knife on her wound.
Mughal-e-Azam may have been really grand during that period of time but I feel zero connection to movies from that era. Though over-acting still happens in BW, it was maximised by 1000000 at that time. I just can’t take the quivering lips, the flared nostrils and the half closed eyed (sleepy but with passion) expressions seriously. It felt like I was watching a stage play in the theatre.

That sounds like Hrithik's acting😆
LOL especially in Aap Mughe Ache Lagne Lage and MPKDH. Both movies had me in a trauma 😆
