They felt like promoting casteism, I felt like mirroring our society; it showed some ugly side of India depicting multiple incidents which happened in the country, mistreatment of marginalised/discriminated people (based on their caste/religion/gender/ethnicity like Beef lynchings, Dalit rapes ...), not glorifying it. It also shows the power play and corruption in the media, law and enforcement, politics and rural areas. The show also takes a dig at left-liberals. Unlike Sacred Games, the main antagonist is not religiously motivated at all; he is a serial killer with two obsession his gangster leader and dogs. I think it pissed Hindutva folks because there is no Muslim villain in the show and they showed Islamophobia, maybe they should watch Special OPs instead of this.

The below quote is from the series pretty much sums up the theme of the series.

"Thing about this system is it looks rotten from outside. But for those inside it's a well-oiled machine. Everybody knows their part. Those who don't get it, will merely get replaced but the system never changes."
