Steps for posting gif/pic -

1. Search for any gif /pic
2. Save that gif/pic on desktop/ whatever.
3. Upload that gif/pic on imgur (am using imgur, pic hosting sites
   
4. Once upload , copy that direct link/orginial link.
5. Then you click on the imagine icon as shown in below screen shot. ..
6. Now paste that imgur/posting link into that image url as show in the circle:
   
7. Press tab...
8. You will see the image/ gif in your post...
