HEIGHTS OF LOVE
(thankyou. crd to @abilashasharma)
“Ek kaam karo, monthly pass banwa lo” Abir suggested.
Mishti at first confused, replied “Kis cheez ke liye?” Abir about to answer his typical response…
“Than----
“Actually, rehne do, don’t even bother answering that.” Mishti interjects. “Mujhe pata hai tum kya bolne wale ho.” Mishti chides herself for falling for her husband’s stupid jokes every time. You and your ajeeb jokes she mumbled.
Abir proud of his wife for knowing him so well, smiles covertly to himself watching her cutely chide herself. And he continues to play along, “Arre aise kaise? How do you know what I was going to say? What if mein kuch aur hi bolne wala tha..aur ab tum mere words bhi chori karne lagi, angry chorni.”
M: “ha! oh please Abir, aise natak mat karo. Mishti mocked. “You know that I am right and ruined your bakwaas joke, fizool mein baatein mat ghumao mr. ajeeb rajvansh.”
A: “Huh? Kaisi biwi ho tum yaar”, he continued mockingly. “First you were upset at me for not gifting you anything on our anniversary. Then you didn’t believe me when I said it’s all a secret. And finally, when I revealed the surprise, you were still mad that I hid it all, and didn’t tell you the secret earlier.
M: “whatever” mishti mumbled, rolling her eyes. I’m already feeling so guilty for scolding Abir unnecessarily, and now this ajeeb nautanki isn’t letting the matter go Mishti thought. She crossed her arms and turned away, in frustration.
Walking around her little figure, Abir continuing to blabber on, silently relishing Mishti’s adorable angry pouted face. “So when I found you were just sitting here alone, mujhe pata tha that you wanted to, but didn’t know how to say that you were sorry and thankyou. So, I just wanted to make it easier! Isliye if you make a monthly pass, then you wouldn’t have to be stuck in this awkward guilt aur gratitude muddle.” Abir noticing how he is riling up Mishti’s, continued to teasingly rub a few more sprinkles of salt. “So technically you should be thanking me twice, for not only the surprise gift, but also solving your dilemma. But tum tho abhi bhi mera saath jagda kar rahi ho, angry chorni!…
Mishti on the other hand is reaching her breaking point haila! kitna bolta hai yeh aadmi, she asserted. She turned around sharply to try and pierce her sherni eyes at him, but the ajeeb aadmi was too busy looking elsewhere as he continued rattling on. Okay, that’s it! she thought.
She stretched up on her tip-toes and pushed her palm against his moving lips. “ABIIIR!” Chup kar yaar! Aur kitna bologe?” Although her petite palm and tiny fingers barely covered his mouth, Abir was taken aback and startled by her sudden bold move. He instantly got lost in those eyes and momentarily forgot about his game plan.
Pinning him to the nearest wall, Mishti said
“Ek tho main already…” she looked to her left
“pareshan hu”… then she looked to her right
“ki main bina baat pe tum pe gussa kar diya, aur..” she frantically searched the bedroom floor for something.
Abir slowly emerging from his trance, silently watched his cute annoyed wife look around for that one item, that reminds them of their acha khasa height difference. Anytime Mishti needed to talk face-to-face or more importantly, eye-to-eye; she would desperately search for that stool, that chair. Basically, ANYTHING that would reduce the strain on their necks from constantly looking up or down at each other.
Glancing up at Abir, she could feel his lips curling up into his mischievous smile, beneath her fingers. He raised his eyebrows teasingly, asking what? Ab kya karogi?. Narrowing her eyes in annoyance, she realised this was all Abir's silly plan, he had purposely provoked her. Fed up and upset, Mishti removed her grip from his face and stepped to turn away. But before she could move away, she felt two strong hands on her elbows, pull her back firmly.
A: “Where do you think you’re going Mrs Rajvansh?” Placing one hand behind her back, he continues “Aise baat ko adhura chodke nahi ja sakti.”
M: “Abiir please! let go of me.” Mishti tried to wiggle her way out. “I was genuinely trying to tell you how guilty I was feeling, par tum tho yahan mazaa le rahe ho mujhe chidah ke.”
A: “Mishti yaar” Abir sighed. “I was just trying to cheer you up, I’m sorry if I made you feel bad.” Gently lifting her chin up, he confessed, “You don’t have to apologise or feel bad for anything.”
M: Playfully smacking his arm, “Ab tum kyu sorry bol rahe ho?” Mishti shaking her head, couldn’t help herself chuckle at her husband’s ironic antics.
Abir smiled and gently pulled her in for a hug. Mishti also wrapped her arms around him and smiled as she felt his warm embrace and the soothing sound of his heartbeat. She silently released a sigh of relief, thanking god for such blissful moments.
M: “Thankyou Abir, thankyou for the lovely surprise. I loved it. I love y---
Abir interrupted, pulled away from the hug, puzzling Mishti.
A: “Ah uh, yaad hai maine kya kaha tha? That shivrathri night, I told you how you should thank me.”
Mishti remembered that wonderful night under the stars on the balcony. “Abiir” she shyly hit his chest.
A: “Arre! Ek tho you already rejected my suggestion to make a monthly pass, aur ab yeh…” Abir sulked. Resuming his game, he turned away crossing his arms hmmph he grumbled closing his eyes in fake annoyance.
Quickly thinking of an idea, Mishti again looked around the bedroom. Abir cheekily peeped through one eye to find his wife desperately searching for that item again. Before she could step away, he grabbed her arm and swiftly twirled it behind her back to lock her in place.
“Instead of focusing on me, tum yahan wahan kya doond rahi ho?” Abir asked playfully.
M: “You KNOW exactly what I’m looking for Abir, don’t act dumb with me. Kahan chupake rakha hai?” Mishti snapped.
A: “yeh kaisi dadagiri hai! How would I know? Abir evaded her command. “Lekin I can help you solve this problem—he pointed his finger towards the distance in height between them. “Mere paas ek solution hai.”
M: ky---” Mishti gasped.
Before Mishti could respond, Abir slid both his arms swiftly around her waist, and pulled her even closer. He clasped his fingers together and locked her in his embrace. Looking down, suddenly Mishti watched the distance between floor and her small feet gradually increase. Abir securely wrapped his arms around her lower-back to gently lift her, and she soon felt like she was floating in mid-air. When she raised her eyes from the ground, she found herself almost staring right into those sparkling brown hazel eyes.
Abir smirked and raised his eyebrows dheka! main hu na smart?. Mishti giggled and shaked her shyly, unable to stay angry at her ajeeb husband’s behaviour. She clasped her hands around his neck to support herself, as he leaned against the wall behind them. Both of them remained lost in each other soulful eyes and warm embrace, they briefly forgot why they were there. Bringing them back to reality, Mishti held Abir’s chin and gently pushed his cheek to the right. Abir simply closed his eyes and smiled, in response as he felt her warm soft lips place a loving kiss on his cheek. Returning back to hold his gaze on her eyes filled with love and gratitude, he slowly turned his face to the other side, waiting. Mishti remained still and wondered.
A: “What are you waiting for? Tumne mujhe sirf surprise ke liye thanks kehdiya hai. Maine tumhari itni help ki, and all you’re gifting me is one kiss?
Mishti chuckled and lightly hit Abir’s cheek. He turned his face to the left waited patiently. Mishti adored his adorable naughty smile and leaned in slowly. Watching from the corner of his eyes, Abir noticed she had gently closed her eyes and decided this is right moment. Mishti’s eyes popped open, as she suddenly felt a pair of warm plump lips crash into hers. After a brief moment of shock, Mishti closed her eyes again, welcoming his tender kiss. She found her fingers reaching up behind his neck to playfully tug on his hair, as Abir responded by deepening the kiss further and lightly nibbling her lower lip. Struggling to maintain balance now, Abir slowly released his grasp on her back and gently lowered her to the floor, but tugged her hips closer. Mishti stayed up on tip-toes, as they slowly parted their lips away after a perfectly blissful moment of passion. Drowning in each other’s twinkling eyes filled with unconditional love, they smiled at each other contentedly as they pressed their foreheads together. Taking a nice long deep breath, they sighed together
“Happy anniversary.”
Softly massaging her waist with his hands, Abir confessed… “I love you angry chorni.”
Mishti gently squeezed his cheeks beneath her little palms and replied, “Ajeeb rajvansh I love you too.”
