Hi all - so sorry for the delay difficult week or so with a family emergency, so not had a chance to update but things are getting better I feel.

Chapter 8
Khushis first 3 days in Raizada house were over and she seemed settled now. She’d build relationships of kindness with the staff, and kindled a bond with Nani.
She no longer needed the veil thank god.
Arnav liked to think they would also grow closer.
He’d noticed her in the shower this morning she looked ravishing, then as she watered the plants and fed Laxmi Ji.
Later when she scurried around the kitchen to make his breakfast.
He’d married a Greek goddess or a indian one was probably more accurate.
For a man who didn’t normally like to flirt he felt very leaning towards being flirtatious.
He didn’t want to overwhelm her by telling her he found her very attractive beyond just her personality, but he could weave that into every day conversation for sure.
“This colour suits you”
He says believing that but mostly wanting to compliment her.

She says whilst trying to fit his cuff links.
Khushi wasn’t sure if it was his staring at her that made her feel nervous or it just that she wasn’t good at this job.
She muddled with it and he simply watched her.
When there was a odd cracking sound he pulled out from his daze.
“tut Gaya shyaad”, (I think I’ve broken it sorry)
“It’s okay” he said instantly when he saw her eyes a little worried he reached out to kiss her forehead. She was taken by surprise however ASR had been intentional. This Their first kiss after those very practical love bites on their wedding night.
Before Khushi realised it he had already fixed his sleeves and attire in a more make shift way and was leaving for work.

Khushi had a list of things to buy and was rather excited to get out in the market.
Although shopping as Mrs Raizada felt strange. She had to walk along supermarket isle with a security garud following closely behind.
Same in the market.
Aman deferred her from going into any brands that belonged to ASRs competitors.
It was bad for brand image he tried to explain to Khushi who just looked at him annoyed.
It had been a long day with some good and some bad.

When Khushi returned home that evening there were two people waiting people for her. Technically one and a goat.
Arnav and Laxmi
Laxmi noticed khushi was gone around 4pm ever since then she had circled the house then settled in front of Arnav with a aggressive look if to ask where Khushi was and if he’d done anything to her she’d eat him up instead of his plants.
“She’s gone shopping okay” he said at first later muting his conference call to talk to the goat with a raised eyebrow.
“Fine sit there for a long as you like.”
Lastly when he realised Laxmi had sat there for one hour straight his kindness couldn’t help but kick in.
“Alright.. here you go” he said walking over after closing his laptop and handing over one of his sugar free cookies and ruffling one of her ears but Laxmi still pulled a face.

When Kushi did return Laxmi understandably jumped into her lap..
Arnav noticed that whilst the goat made her smile she looked irritated by something.
His suspicions proved correct when she parted from Laxmi to head towards him with something she’d taken out of one of her shopping bags.
She didnt have the normal sparkle that came with her eyes.
She perched next to him on the sofa where he sat browsing one last work email.
“Aap ke liyey”
ASR looked at towards her a little suprised and taking from her a small boxed gift.
The box had given away what it could have been but he was pleasantly overwhelmed still.
Not many people buy me presents, he says sharing something about him that others didn’t know.
He opens up the little rectangular box that fits in his hands to uncover a new set of cuff links. He understood it was probably because she’d broken his set this morning. The letters ASR on each piece.
“Thank you! - you can help me with them tomorrow morning.”
Khushi pleased that he liked her gift gave a partial smile but then the wondering goat at her feet became a distraction.
Yet he still could feel something was bothering her.
Before he could ask her she’d walked away to put Laxmi out for the night.
Whilst Hp walked in with Arnavs post dinner coffee he wanted to know when Khushis mood had taken a turn.
He asked Hariprakash about Khushis days then dialled Amans number whilst he watched Khushi from afar at the poolside. Maybe her shopping spree was where something was wrong.
“Why does my wife look unhappy Aman?”
He was keen to know why Khushi had come home looking upset”
Aman explained the bodyguard and the veering away from certain shops had made khushi annoyed.
“Let her do what she wants next time”
He rules over any reasoning and Aman has to comply by his boss.
When Khushi walks back into the room, Arnavs apology catches her attention.
“I’m sorry about Aman You want me to fire him?”
“bilkul Nahin ” she says at once
“I can take away his bonus”
“No” she shakes her head thinking about how difficult it was when she heard her baba talk about firing and paycuts when he was alive.
Then? He said as she watched her approach and sit beside him again. She only ever perched a sign that she still wasn’t fully comfortable. What he did like was her passion in things she truly cared about.”
“Kuch nahin, Amanji hamare dost hai”
Fair enough he thought.
“Let’s talk about something else, apne bare mein kuch baton” he asked her wanting them to build on there relationship.
Khushi didn’t know what to say
She dipped her eyes for a moment.
“How did you get that scar?” He asked her softly pointing out the slightly darker then her skin tone graze on her right wrist.
A sign that he noticed more about her than she realised.
Batchpan mein chudi tut kar lagi thi.. “I caught my hand on one of my mother’s glass bangles when I was younger.”
His eyes are warm, considerate like they really want to know more..
A feeling no other had given her till now.

“There’s a few things on that list of Khushis I do worry about” says Aman to Riyas over breakfast.
Nothing comes in the way of Love Aman. Says Riya boldly but Aman looks worried.

Freedom to do what she wants is on Khushis list as you’ll find out in the next couple of chapters.
It was an sweet gesture on Khushi's part to fix something she broke of Arnav's. And Arnav genuinely appreciated her choice.
Khushi's unhappiness after an all day at the shopping mall is totally understandable. I for sure would not like restrictions on the purchases.
Arnav's and Laxmi ji's lone time was cute.
