This is partly correct. Salman was recommending Zarine Khan, Sonakshi, Sneha and male actors as well. Most of them could not survive.

Katrina is not a great actress but she has great screen presence.

Audiances and media was loving her from the very beginning and film makers knew how to cash her popularity.

Movie like Rajneeti, with big shots like Ranbir and Nana Patekar was promoted by emphasizing how Katrina is going to play Sonia Gandhi and about her preps. Chikni chameli was on repeat for Agnipath promotions while Priyanka was hardly noticed.

She had back to back hits and her presence was felt though she was playing second lead to big stars like Akshay, Salman, Srk, Amir.

Just watch "Alah Duhai", compare Katrina to Bipasha and you will see why Katrina survived while Bipasha didn't.

It's all to her credit.

On topic, I think Meenakshi Sheshadhari could be a bigger star. Don't know why she disappeared.

You have a point but I also believe that you need to have some kind of support in the industry and you do you can make it work. If everyone got the amount of support Alia did they would be golden. Even Katrina got lots of help and access to resources for her be a success. She didn’t have any kind of presence or any talent when she started. She became because she was invested in!
