'Nobody can pull off a Sujal better than me,' says Rajeev Khandelwal shunning the idea of remaking 'Kahin To Hoga'

From Sujal Garewal to Captain Aditya Hooda, Here are 18 TV ...

It won't be wrong to say Rajeev Khandelwal is a golden gem of the showbiz industry. Be it television soaps or films and even web content, he is leaving behind an unmatched legacy with interesting and diverse projects. As Rajeev has been belting out some of the finest content as an actor, it is impossible to take out Sujal from Kahin To Hoga out of our minds. Needless to say, in his second project, the handsome hunk made many go weak on their knees, giving a tough competition to his contemporaries. Now, as the trend of remakes and 2.0 edition has taken over the industry with iconic shows getting a reboot, Rajeev is of the opinion that nobody can pull off a Sujal in the new times.

Rajeev, during an exclusive conversation with PeepingMoon.com, went down the memory lane to recall the elements that made Sujal iconic. The actor, like most of us, believes that none from the fresh bunch of talent can portray the intensity of the character like he did. Calling himself an immature actor during Kahin To Hoga, Rajeev said what worked for the role was his personality and looks. Reiterating the fact that some things are meant to happen without many efforts, Rajeev added that the magic that has been created in the past can't be repeated. "No nobody can pull off a Sujal. Who and how will the intensity be brought back? Somethings become iconic not just because you were at your best, but, they just fall in place. I was a very immature actor when Kahin To Hoga happened. What worked was the character suited my face and personality. Whatever I did, not because I was a talented actor, was believable. I would look at Aamna Sharif aka Kashish in a particular manner and people would assume it to be the intensity of love. You can never recreate something, whether it is iconic films or television shows. You can’t do a Gabbar Singh again. You can’t recreate Amitabh Bachchan again," Rajeev told

Heartbeat

After seeing the trailer thought this is not something i would like to watch during lockdown. Something depressing and sad.

But the dialogues and the way it has been narrated is not all that sad. Its all about accepting the losses and moving on.

The dilemma, the decision-making, the questions for which no one has answers, all shown in a series of short monologues and dialogues.

The husband and wife in a battle in her mind.

We need not say about the acting, he is very good as Abhimanyu Jain....when he talks about the fall, his dislike for hospitals, his concern for her and their son, pressuring her to press the freedom button and move on and in all other scenes in the 19 min short story.

The end - Sad tears and a warm smile together

A good watch can watch a few times 😃

Rajeev Khandelwal: ‘Heartbeat’ is one subject which is very close to my Heart!

ajeev Khandelwal who was recently seen in ZEE5’s short film Heartbeat got into a candid and interesting conversation with us at India Forums where he spoke to us about his experience shooting for Heartbeat, his production house, Marzi 2 and much more...

Talking about his experience shooting for ‘Heartbeat’, Rajeev said, “Well, shooting for it was fun actually. It was very interesting because when you work for a short film, it’s a different kind of fun because you complete the film in 2-3 days. Everything is very meticulously planned out, you can't shoot in excess, there’s a way of shooting. So it was very interesting, Anupriya is a very very good actor and we hit it off on day one only. It was fun and only 4-5 people were on the sets, it also was my own production, so even better.”

“I wanted to start the production house with something which appeals to me and excites me, that’s why my banner is called ‘Real Films’ and very slowly I’ll get into bigger productions. I relate to this story very well so I had to produce it,” he added.

When he was asked about his take-away from the entire experience shooting for the short film, Rajeev shared a very personal incident. He shared, “My take away has been that yes there are two perspectives, I totally understand. I am a pro euthanaisa, I had a situation like this in my life, My mom was very unwell and she was on a ventilator. I even went to the medical head and I asked them that I know that euthanasia is not legal but I just wanted to get her away from all the troubles and pain that she was going through. The doctors also said that there was no way of getting her back. I was in the mind thinking that if euthanasia was in our country, I am sure our mom would also have said that Rajeev let’s do it and I would have done it for her. So the take away has been that I totally understand the perspective that the other one goes through. My dad was also there, so the call would have not been mine, it would have been my dad’s call if it was legal. It is your personal call, you will have to live that call, good, back or ugly.”

He added, “Heartbeat is one story, one subject which is really really close to my heart. 5-6 years back, I was going to be a part of a film, whose subject was Euthanasia. We even worked on it for 5-6 months but the film never took off. So that subject has been in my mind that if someday it happens then I would love to do it.”

Talking about which has been the closest character to his heart, he said, “I think closest would be Kabir Sharma of Reporters to an extent”

When asked about Marzi 2, he said, “I don’t know when Marzi 2 will come but yes, it has been planned ofcourse. But now because of the virus, I don’t know. But I think the first thing that I will shoot for if things pan out the way we want it to pan out, could be Marzi 2.”

Speaking about Haq Se season 2, he said, “No, Haq se season 2 is not happening for me, I am not a part of it. I do not know about whether the show is happening or not.”

I am pro-euthanasia – Rajeev Khandelwal

Well-known TV, film, and web actor Rajeev Khandelwal, who is featuring in ZEE5 short film Heartbeat spoke to IWMBUZZ about the same and the possible effects of the Coronavirus outbreak on the entertainment industry.

Your take on Heartbeat?

A very poignant love story dwelling on the moral dilemma of discontinuing life support of a terminally ill vegetative patient. It is a tough call to balance emotion and economics with the harsh truth that your loved one is now just an artificially kept alive body. There is also the issue of what people will say. If you ask me personally, I am pro-euthanasia.

Doctor in the current outbreak are similarly playing God deciding which patient has a better recovery prognosis was given the scarcity of resources?

I salute our front line medical professionals fighting this scrouge putting their lives on the lines. Being an atheist, I think today, the doctors are our new God, with all religious places of worship shut. Ironically till a month back, we were fighting about where to build the mandir/masjid?

Returning to Heartbeat, how was the process?

The biggest challenge was to tell the entire story in nineteen minutes flat. I am glad we could pull it off—Everyone in my family including those who are otherwise very critical of my work has also loved it. I must also congratulate ZEE5 for having pulled all stops to ensure mass awareness of the film, which is a tough challenge in today’ s lockdown environment.

Since you have successfully dabbled in all entertainment mediums, your take on the web?

Digital is the most potent and fastest-growing medium. Its biggest USP is reach. .Cinema always had an upper revenue limit depending on the number of screens it can garner. Universally watched web has no such limitations; you might not watch my show today, but can still check it out later. Today given the lockdown situation, web viewership has gone up 50% as most content is online. Even my father, who till now kept a distance from the web too, has jumped on the bandwagon. This above freedom empowers the web to offer differentiated content, unlike films and TV. I am medium neutral, only wanting to be part of projects which can be happily watched years down the road. Most, if not all, of my work fall in that category.

How will COVID-19 impact our entertainment sector?

It would be premature to hazard a guess on the final effects depending on the longevity of the pandemic. At the very least, substantial film budgets of individual top producers and A list actors will have to be rationalized. Also, viewing patterns across mediums will change. A new type of industry might emerge. I, too, had some upcoming projects, but right now, everything is up in the air. Post lockdown lifts everyone will do cost-effectiveness analysis, till then just sit at home.

Ateet

Supernatural thriller it is. Story about a wronged, betrayed officer who comes back to reclaim what is his and settle some issues.

He makes a real entry in the 39th min. The 28th min one and 32 min one are very very tiny and do not count.

it is more of the wife. Like in Heartbeat this is also a story of the wife.

He is seen more in the last 3rd part of the film.

He is very good as the caring loving man wanting to be a part of his family and get close to his daughter. Also as the very smart officer who convinces his higher ups about the betrayal.

The ambush scene was shot well. Also the scary portions of the movie too. Good i watched in the morning. Still was scared.

The end dialogues before he enters the building could be Abhimanyu's in Heartbeat.

If Abhimanyu's wife had not pressed the button and he had come out of coma...it could be ATEET.

Rag Rag Mein Travel & Adventure... - Rajeev Khandelwal FC(Page 49)

Priya Mani's name appears ahead of his in the opening credits.

First time in a movie/web of his. And his name is spelt wrong.

Dont waste your energies he said last December. But like watching his projects.

A hat-trick with names beginning with A and of course the.......

No more, name is ok but not the other.....

Having a busy pre lockdown and lockdown 😊
