Deepika can never pull off Draupadi the way Pooja Sharma did! - Page 4

Saying no-one can ever beat Pooja as Draupadi is a gross exaggeration.

But yeah, I have watched some scenes from the Star Plus Mahabharat onscreen and Pooja is truly exceptional. The cheerharan scene and her monologue after the humiliation left me speechless. *Claps*

I think Rupa Ganguly was also very good in the Doordarshan Mahabharat.

For any future iterations, I am sure some regional actresses will definitely be able to do justice to the role.

And yeah, I dont think Deepika will be able to pull off Draupadi. The more movies she does the more obvious it becomes that her acting prowess is limited. On top of that, she has that annoying voice. 🤔

Pooja was fine, but saying no one can ever do a Draupadi as good as she did is sheer nonsense. Rupa Ganguli in original MB was great too. & what Deepika can do or not, we can only know when she does it. But going by her performance from BM & Padmavati, she can definitely pull it off fine.

Gosh Pooja was phenomenal as Draupadi. Her cheer haran scenes and the dushasan vadh scenes are amazing. Shes a good actor and you can't deny that. Her performance was really good, in fact one the best in the show.

I don't agree about no one else being able to play the role. I mean from Bollywood, there are no actress who can pull what she did but, there maybe other heroines around Indian industries who can. From the top of my head, Anushka Shetty. She did a good job in Arundhati and such roles suit her a lot too. If anyone is making MB again, please cast her as Draupadi.

Althou I feel Deepika would fit the description quite good for Draupadi but she wouldn't be able to pull off the role. She couldn't do Padmavat a justice, she wouldn't be able to do this role either.

I only watched the old Mahabharat and Rupa is the Draupadi etched in my mind. And she was exceptional

Umm you know that this happened like a lot time back? When girls were kinda suppressed, they didn't speak much, accepted everything that was thrown on their way, didn't speak against anyone. On that time period, a woman who married five men yet stood proud in the society, who ruled an empire, who got humiliated in front of all and yet didn't loose her respect or pride, who fought for justice, how can one call her abla naari?

Also she didn't lure him. Keechack had called to meet her and instead of her, Bheem went instead and killed him.

But yeah, Star Plus Panchali was also not Vyasa's Panchali. The Panchali from the epic was an awesome woman, the finance minister and citizen liaison of Indraprasth, pandith, a woman with enough martial prowess to throw down both Jayadrath and Keechak. She was the woman who lectured Krishna, not the other way around. Star Plus made her into Krishna's puppet. And she never, ever made that silly vow about not trying her hair!

I was incensed watching the post dice hall scenes. They gave Krishna HER lines! Why? Why, why, why? Even in the pre Bhagavat Yana scene, Krishna got her lines on dharma/adharma. It's not as though KRISHNA needed propping up. Then, there were all the extra lines they added to justify K boy in the sexual assault he perpetrated. The real Panchali hardly knew he existed until the dice hall, and even there, she ignored him and spoke to the elders.

Pooja did fit the bill in terms of beauty and strength. The characterization was poor.

Wow you do know a lot about Mahabharat...I’m embarrassed to say now but I’ve actually never read it...only watched on tv and read and heard the stories as a kid!

I noticed they had changed a lot of things in the knew one but I always thought the original show was true to the book...

But as for the looks department, I agree that Pooja is beautiful but wasn’t Draupadi dusky? Pooja was very very fair haha

Absolutely what pooja has done Deepika cannot do even 1% of it shr should just drop the idea of making drapaudi she will ruin it.

Only actress who can pull of drapaudi are Anushka Shetty and pc

A regular woman wouldn't be able.to do either. Panchali clearly did according to Vyasa. That doesn't mean she could actually kill the men.

Drapaudi was more intelligent and sharp then she is given credit for. Here is a woman who was dragged down the hall in a single piece of cloth and absolutely nobody in that hall full of learned men took a stand of her . It is she who stands up for herself and not only for herself but even manages to free her husband. You have to salute her presence of kind she absolutely brilliant and all her conversation with yudhishtra show how well learned and well equipped. Here is a woman who was finance minister of ip . Who has great involvement in politics. Throughout the epic there are various instances where she shows her presence of mind , her compassion . A sharp intelligent woman who made most of situation presented and rose above but all she gets reduced to a blood thirsty woman who was reason for the war . I would say she was as sharp as Krishna himself these two were the main driving forces for pandavas. People who had in them to see beyond personal gains. I have always said and i will repeat it again she was an enigma an inspiration not a damsel in distress or lovelorn woman who had bo other job then mooning about her husband
