I cringed at Vikram throughout the scene 🤢..On a sidenote, if you see carefully, Ankit is very respectful with Jen while enacting the scene. 👏 Esp the pause he takes before keeping his head on her legs.

True.. But I still feel there would be death in the end. I have even thought of another scenario.
Vikram and MJ shoot each other. MJ put Maya behind a wall, she is trying to break the wall and is expecting Rudra to save her. Rudra comes, saves her but it's too late. Maya takes promise from Rudra to leave all darkness behind and dies. This wall thing is inspired from Maya's dialogues in the lift to Rudra, the way she describes death to him, and the last lines, har bandhan se aazadi paoge in the rain.
