No, they don't. I mean, it's very close to real life and siblings give you a reality check but they don't meddle in your life. Atleast, my sister and I don't.

Kuhu is dispensable for Meenu. She doesn't particularly like her because she is Mishti's sister. Anyone related to Mish is anathema to her. Post their wedding, she was tolerating Kuhu but then she has never had genuine affection for her. She always uses Kuhu against Mishti.
That is an interesting take on Meenu and Kuhu's relationship. I always thought it was because Kunal didn't love Kuhu, Maybe Meenu thought she had nothing to worry about. If you look at Abir's case, he loves Mishti more than anything else, so Meenu wants him to stay away from Mish, so that Abir can be closer to Meenu and the family.
I think Meenu was confident that Kunal could never love someone who was not approved by her so she didn't see Kuhu as a threat. And I don't think Meenu hates Kuhu just because she is Mish's sister. She always wanted a DIL who could be controlled and Kuhu is someone who loves to live her life in her own way. But what you wrote makes perfect sense too.
