@clarity: That rain scene was so sexy and sweet at the same time! Very Kunal and Kuhu ❤️ Part of me loves the fact that Kuhu's beauty is just not the first thing Kunal sees when he looks at her, or what he fell in love with (very consistent with his answer to her about straight/curly hair) but I also treasure those moments when he gets lost in her. Seems like a waste not to notice when she is *so* frikkin' hot!

I am a Ravenclaw through and through, though if i were to be part anything else, it would probably be Hufflepuff. So interesting that so many of us are the same combination! 😲

I am also loving the song discussion! I have so many songs that have reminded me of Kuku. I have to give Nikkie (@beguiling) credit for pointing out Agar Tum Saath Ho to me during their first shaadi. I didn't love the song before that but once it was picturised on Kuku in my head, it sort of became their anthem for me.

What'd I do?? It was all Riya. If it wasn't for her, I would've probably left the forum long back. Her stories and the topics on Kuku kept me coming and then ofcourse, she created the AT. Thank God for her that we're all here and I have place to discuss the show (Potter, ATLA and so many others) and my ships.

@Bold-1: So true!! I love the fact that he didn't fall for her looks but I do cherish the moments when he admires her beauty as well. It's so ironic that Kuhu worked on her outer beauty since she was a kid to be admired and receive love and the guy who falls for her doesn't look at that at all. It makes me love this couple all the more💗.

@Bold-2: I wasn't surprised because I attended this HP themed writing workshop a few years back and most of us were Ravenclaws (according to their test)

Side note: We were all sorted for the workshop and I was put in Slytherin because they couldn't put us all in one house.

This is something I wrote on a post Nami made a while back, asking of Kunal is falling for Kuhu:

The way I see it, Kunal has always had feelings for Kuhu, right from the moment he ran into her on a deserted road and she gave him a new perspective on dealing with his past. He agreed for their rishta only after meeting her that night, and if you go back and watch those episodes, you can see just how smitten he was with her, and how upsetting the rishta swap was for him too.

BUT the fundamental principle of Kunal's life was to be the son that Abir couldn't be for BB and so he paid absolutely no attention to his own feelings, and blindly did what Meenu told him to in the interest of "parivar ki ekta." He comes off as robotic, becuase he repeats these lines to remind himself to mash down his own feelings and act in what Meenu has taught him is the interest of the family.

His real feelings come out only when he is alone (like when he found himself crying in the room before KC), when he is drunk (like the bachelor/hen's party night), or when he is emotionally vulnerable or scared (the visarjan hug, the hospital). Otherwise, he keeps these feelings tightly under wraps because he has been made to feel like prioritising his own feelings is a betrayal of his family. This played out quite literally with the spiking incident: Kunal tried to object on the grounds that it was Kuhu's family and BB responded by pitting Kuhu's family against theirs and making him choose.

And this is what BB has done time and again -- this is how she convinced him to deceive Kuhu, and why he eventually served Kuhu divorce papers. Even now, after BB's pardafash, Kunal is consciously setting aside his feelings for Kuhu to help Abir win Mishti back. This was clearly illustrated when he woke up (on Kuhu's sofa!), rushed to the calendar and then almost reluctantly turned his eyes to the photo of him and Abir.

In many ways, Kunal is the mirror image of Abir. Where Abir made huge promises and then fell totally flat when it came to execution, Kunal hesitates to make any promises at all unless he knows beforehand that he will be able to fulfill them. That is why, despite his feelings for Kuhu, despite the fact that she has become such an indespensible part of his life, he refuses to come forward and ask her to stay -- he is well aware that the next time he is called upon to prioritise his brother or mom over her, he will do so without skipping a beat. He doesn't want to promise anything until he can promise everything, and he knows he can't.

Now Kunal has promised Kuhu everything (which not coincidentally, imo, came right after he saw Meenu call her "meri pyari bahu") but I think he is still terrified of its implications, especially now that Kuhu is suddenly behaving out of character and keeps finding herself in the middle of drama. Kunal tried to play his cards exactly right and only accept his own feelings when he knew he had Meenu's full approval, but what happens now when he realises that Meenu was lying? That's when the real choice comes into play for Kunal, and that is why I am all full speed ahead for a separation.

I have a question to ask because I haven't seen the initial episodes in their entirety.

Kunal and Kuhu met for the first time during Holi when they were high on bhaang and then they meet at night after AbiNal's pakoda discussion😆 then how did Kunal know who Kuhu was?? Was he shown her picture??

Also, I just remembered the scene where he is at a meeting and their holi picture comes on screen and he gives this shy smile so it seems like he had already made up his mind to say 'yes' to Kuhu's rishta. What do you guys think?

I would love to see Kunal attracted to Kuhu. Whenever there is a function where Kuhu gets ready in her traditional attire, I always hope for a scene where Kunal is mesmerized by her beauty. ( I know this type of scene is totally cliché but I still want this scene for them )

I was actually hoping for this scene in NishMish Mehendi because Kaveri looked gorgeous in that light green lehenga but like always Kunal was too focused on other things to notice his wife.

Btw does anyone else think that all the costumes of Nishmish ceremonies were beautiful? I felt like by the time they reached to Mishbir wedding, the production house ran out of budget and gave tacky clothes to everyone. 😆

DKP already do that with KaiRa in parent show and it starts to seem very fake and superficial after a point. I would love to see him admire her once too but not at every event.

This may be an unpopular opinion but Kaveri looked so good in that yellow and black dress right before NishMish mehendi when Kunal calls her his "Biwi".

@Sam- Interesting. How do we explain him not wanting to marry Kuhu even when BB told him to? Why did his feelings for Kuhu not kick in then? It was one of those rare occasions when Kunal actually got angry at BigBen for 'forcing' him to marry Kuhu and he categorically said he didn't wan to marry Kuhu. After those initial episodes, where he was smitten, he completely lost any affection that he had for her. I would have understood it if that's what he had to be thanks to BigBen but there was no inner introspection, no shifty glances in the scenes to indicate he didn't mean what he was saying. Maybe it was bad writing. Maybe they decided to do a u-turn on Kunal liking Kuhu for the sake of drama. I am confused :S

Also, I completely agree that the real reckoning will only be when Meenu's true feelings come out in the open. Right now, Kunal is under the false impression that his 'Maa' is okay with his biwi. Let's see if he stands by Kuhu when Meenu finally reveals how much she hates KuShti.

We know Abir will choose Mishti and fight for her but Kunal....IDK.....

The problem with Kunal is that he sees everything in life through the Maa and Bhai lens. Situations, people, relationships- all of them are evaluated to make sure the parivaarik equilibrium stays as is. This is a definite negative trait because it means he will do wrong, if it means pleasing his Maa and Bhai. It's just luck that Abir is not like Meenu to force him to drug other people but Meenu is a complete monster. Kunal has acted like one under her guidance. To me, there's nothing less attractive than a man without his own mind. Kunal's true redemption will be when he realises that he doesn't have to execute all of Meenakshi's plans just because she is Maa. I want him to take a stand for himself, for Kuhu and for what is right and do it without fear.

Yes I would love to see it only once. If they start doing that for every event that would definitely be overkill.

I loved the dress Kuhu was wearing when Kunal called her his biwi. It looked casual but stylish.

@Bold: 🤣 Maybe that was the plan. Nishmish Mandap was beautiful compared to what the mandap leads were supposed to get married in.

I saw some clips of Kaira's wedding in insta and everything looked grand. The set, costumes everything was on point. Maybe DKP spent all their money on Kaira's weddings so they had no budget left for this show. 😆

They also have shot in many foreign countries but in our show, Kunal owns a travel company but no one even talked about sending KuKu on a honeymoon. 😕
