Hubris is the word I feel like using while hoping that things don't go too bad.

A man was arrested in my city for encouraging people to drink cow urine while claiming that it would cure coronavirus. And there are people who buy such claims as well.

So yeah, I mostly just roll my eyes at the incredulity of people.
