HUM TV’s ‘Dil Ruba’ with a star-studded cast of hot and savvy men is all set to hit our screens.

As many as five handsome heroes will be seen in the drama. But neither they are friends nor they are related! Apparently, they all are rivals, pursuing the haughty heroine of the story- Sanam!

But why are all these heroes losing their minds over her?

It is no secret that Hania Aamir is an all-time social media darling. Consequently, when the teaser of her upcoming drama ‘Dil Ruba’ showcasing the starlet as ‘Sanam’-a TikTok star being chased by a variety of young men- hit the internet, it was bound to trigger a wave of mixed reactions!

There has been an outpour of comments, some critical of Hania’s shenanigans in the teaser and the rest were dubious of the wide array of guys going gaga after her. Nonetheless, the sneak peek served its purpose, creating ample noise and raising curiosity amongst the audience.

Alongside Hania Aamir, the drama stars Mohib Mirza, Syed Jibran, Shahroz Subzwari, Asad Siddiqui and Nabeel Zuberi in pivotal roles. Ali Hasan has donned the director’s cap while Qaisera Hayat of Alif Allah Aur Insaan fame has penned the drama.

While we patiently wait for the ultimate promos of Dil Ruba to satiate our rising inquisitiveness over the plot, we began some snooping of our own to find out why Hania has so many men at her tail in the story.

Are the men playing with her while she is enjoying all the attention? Or is she toying with innocent hearts all at once?

Hum Spotlight had a candid chat with the writer of the drama Qaisera Hayat and the leading heroes of Dil Ruba, Jibran Syed and Mohib Mirza to solve the mystery behind the viral teasers! Seems like Dil Ruba’s story is loaded with a myriad of social messages for the youth.

While its teaser appeared fun, light-hearted and wacky, the plot breaks silence on a major reality-based matter that we all as a society need to talk about.

The first teaser shows so many heroes going crazy over Sanami i.e Hania Aamir and she is flirting with a lot of men. What is that all about?

Qaisera Hayat: This is a reality-based drama and I have observed such characters in people around me. The girls who are beautiful and are vibrant in persona often find men running after them. If the girl is sensible and mature, she is smart enough to not pay heed to such things.

However, certain young girls also have other friends, supporting such habits and Sanam is the type of girl who is involved in flirting with various types of men. And she doesn’t realize that sometimes, she also creates problems for them. After closely observing such conduct amongst people, I have penned this drama.

Mohib Mirza: All of these heroes have different tracks and often we don’t see such scripts where we witness multiple layers and tracks of characters, in which almost all are main leads.

Hania’s character, Sanam in DilRuba is such that she leads-on men and she is handling a lot of men simultaneously. And one of the guys is me, Sabih. He is a very loyal, naïve and down-to-earth person who is deeply in love with Sanam. The drama will get very emotional towards the middle and the only character that will stay with Sanam is Sabih. He is someone who is there for her and his family as well, who is not even his own.

Jibran Syed: This is the part of the story showing Hania’s character that she is a girl who is not into any serious relationships but likes to have fun with men and is taking them all for a ride. My character comes in the picture at the very end. While you can see all the guys going crazy after her in the glimpses, the twist is that she will be tied to me rather than the other guys. My role in the story is of an ultimate bad guy with wicked intentions. And he will serve as retribution to Hania to what she does to all the other heroes. I am what she eventually gets in the end!

You have penned serious stories like Alif Allah Aur Insaan. What made you write Dil Ruba?

Qaisera Hayat: I have seen this trend rising in school, colleges, universities and even professional lives that both men and women, possessing such attributes, are often flirting with each other. Meanwhile, life is a very serious issue. In this casual ‘Dilagi’, they often end up ruining lives of each other and so much so, they end up even committing suicide. This is a very sensitive issue that I have seen growing around me.

While I have penned very serious stories, the audience is surely not expecting such a drama from me. But this tale has a very significant message for the society that sometimes your playful ‘Dilagi’ can turn into a serious ‘Dil Ki Lagi’ for someone.

DilRuba seems like a drama with a strong female lead and various male heroes. What was the one factor that made you go for DilRuba?

Mohib Mirza: My basic motivation is that I usually don’t play characters of men that have a lot of negative portrayals. So my criterion was in-sync with the script. Secondly, I have never done this kind of character over time of such a naïve, devoted and hard-working human who falls in love and fulfills it to the end. It was very interesting and appealing to me.

Jibran Syed: The reason to do this drama was that my character was very flamboyant, out-loud and very stylized as well. He is a baddie but with a good class and penchant.

When I was narrated the script, I knew there were other guys as well. That never insecure me. I just wanted to know what I am doing and whatever I have done, I am satisfied with that. I had a good time doing the drama and my main motivation to do this play was the character that I was doing. I liked it when I read the script and signed up for it.

How was your experience working with Hania and having her as a love interest in the drama?

Mohib Mirza: It was a good experience working with Hania and you will see the color of her personality in her role as well. She performed well with all the heroes and hopefully, people will like it.

Jibran Syed: It was an absolute pleasure working with her. Hania is cute, charming and a fascinating actress, so much so, I looked forward to going on the set to do the scenes with her. The chemistry in the scenes was very good for her. Hopefully, it will turn out good on-screen as well. I will give full marks to Hania that she has covered a big distance in her career in a very short period and I wish her all the best!

What should be the one reason the audience must watch Dil Ruba? Will the drama have any takeaways for the viewers?

Qaisera Hayat: Since it’s a reality-based drama and this trend is rising, I have tried to impart this strong message that such characters also suffer in life due to their conduct. Often, our small habits turn into blunders and create serious issues for us. The rest is up to the audience on what they learn from it!

Mohib Mirza: There are various moments in the drama that will connect well with the audience, not only with women but with younger men as well. Hania’s character is very active on social media and she is very tech-savvy. So even the youth will be able to connect with it. And they will realize how lighthearted, playful moments can turn into serious situations and get intense.

Jibran Syed: The biggest reason the audience should watch this drama is because of me (Laughs). But jokes apart, there is a stellar star cast and all the good actors that you have seen in the teasers are part of it. The story is very interesting driven by Hania’s character and that is one character to look out for.

As far as the takeaways are concerned, every drama is made with the intention that there is something to be taught to the viewers. What they take away from the drama is a different thing because everyone perceives the story in their way. However, the overall message is to not play around with relationships because sometimes people feel that casual flirting and playing around with someone’s feelings is ‘okay’ but from another person’s point of view, it is NOT okay!
