I am so happy to see the update... the progress is good too, but until Khushi can forgives herself and feel deserved of happiness, her and Arnav’s relationship will not progress. Hope she will understand the.

Hi all, I am back... cant say back with a bang....have not beein in touch with writing for long... dont know how the update has come like.. do leave your comments.. I was really in a bad phase with all the negativity surrounding me and forgot that one thing which always gave me peace writing and reading Arshi stories... now I am back to it.. please motivate me to write further with your comments

Part 18

Next day was the busiest for Khushi, she had really started taking her work seriously and was liking it….. she needed some files from the file room but couldn’t find the office boy to search for same and hence decided to check herself… it was past lunch time and Arnav was too busy with back to back meetings…

Morning he and Khushi had left early as they had meeting with the investors for the upcoming Dubai office and hence couldn’t get time for breakfast but he promised khushi that they will have early lunch but time went by and they didn’t even realize.

Khushi reached the file room and it was at the basement… she was checking some old files to get an idea about the other offices of AR and that what are the requirements she need to keep in mind while designing their Dubai office… while searching she accidentally found a file full of model’s photographs… she didn’t wanted to check… but her hands on its own started checking the photos and her breathe hitched.. as she found her beloved Di’s pics… it was for their calender shoot.. there were pics of her and Arnav as well posing as the show stopper…there was a content and beautiful smile on her face as if she was the happiest women on this earth… Khushi felt her chest becoming tight with emotions… she was unable to control her tears…..

Arnav finally came out of the meeting that went long… he was really exhausted and wanted to have lunch… he thought of calling Khushi for lunch… but when he reached her cabin she was nowhere to be found.. he was confused where is she… he tried dialling her.. but her mobile was unreachable… he asked nearby staff but no one knew.. now he was really worried…

He came down and asked Leena…

Leena.. did you see Khushi.. he asked in a worried tone… Leena was confused and tried to remember and suddenly she realized that she had seen Khushi going towards file room.

Speak up dammit I am asking you Arnav shouted and she jerked with fear.. SSs..Sir.. I saw her going towards file room sometime back.. I think she will be there..

He was confused… why will she go to file room… where are the office boys he asked in anger… Sir… woh two of them are on leave and others are with admin dept as there is some repair work going on with our office AC.. they have gone to check..

God Dammit you mean to say there was no office boy available and she had to go herself he asked in anger and Leena was really scared now… suddenly he remembered…… Khushi…she may see those photos…. dammit….

He ran towards the File room like a mad man.. when he reached there he saw a broken khushi clutching Sheetal’s photos crying badly…. Arnav ran to her.. Khushi… Khushi… he shook her to bring her out of her shocked stage… Khushi saw him and just grabbed his shirt… Arnav… Arnav Di….

Shhhhh… Khushi .. calm down he said while cupping her face which was distraught… she just hugged him tight and later passed out… Arnav panicked….Khushi Khushi…she patted her cheeks God Khushi… wake up dammit….He said shaking her

Soon he picked her in his arms and took her to his Cabin….. Leena… he shouted.. call the doctor now… He said while taking an unconscious Khushi…. Leena nodded and did as said… the whole office was witness to the scene…

Lavanya who just entered office by then saw the whole scene and was worried like hell, but then she realized the whole staff was witnessing the incident as if a show is going on.

What Happened? Guyss… just get back to work now… Lavanya screamed…. there is no show going over here.. she said in anger and everyone got back to their desk.

Arnav reached his cabin and made Khushi lie down on the couch, he started patting her cheeks.. worry lines clearly visible on his face, soon Lavanya and Aman entered and then he saw him…. Nikhil?.... When did you come? Arnav asked…

I am sorry Arnav woh… I…

Arnav didn’t had time to hear anything as he just wanted to concentrate on Khushi..

Arnav.. just sprinkle water on her face said Aman.. and he did so trying to wake up an unconscious Khushi… but she still didn’t wake up.. now everyone was more worried..

Sir… Leena entered his cabin.. Sir Doctor is here…

Mr. Raizada can you move aside.. the doctor said wanting to check Khushi… he was not ready to leave her hand… you can do your check up doctor.. I cant leave her… he said in a firm voice..

The doctor sighed.. he knows such stubborn people who never listen to doctors when in panic state and hence he didn’t probe further…

The doctor checked on Khushi and gave her some injection… Arnav slowly pulled the photographs from her hands and looked at it… it was a pic of one of the shows they did wherein he was walking with Sheetal on the ramp, he sighed…… does the past always gonna haunt them for their whole life? He thought in pain… Lavanya understood his turmoil…. Sab thik ho jayega Arnav…

When Lavanya?... When will all this end.. I thought she has moved on.. but.. here we are back to where we had started…

Mr. Raizada… does she has any history of illness… as in… Arnav nodded understanding the question and explained how Khushi had a nervous breakdown and how she took time to recover..

I think something triggered for her to get those painful memories back again… doc said..

What should we do Doc… Arnav asked…

Doctor sighed.. these are panic attacks Arnav and these get cured with time.. yes medicines does make a difference but the willingness of the patient also matters a lot..

She needs to forget her past and that will happen only if she has a beautiful and happy present and future, she will require new moments in life to forget her bitter past… how you do that is upto you… but only thing I can suggest is that if she doesn’t come out of her past.. she will keep on getting these panic attacks..

I have given her injection.. she should be awake in sometime… call if anything… she needs to take rest.. saying so the doctor left…

Lavanya Aman and Arnav were waiting for Khushi to be awake when they heard a knock at the cabin.. it was Nikhil..

Arnav I…

Not now Nikhil… I want to be left alone… Arnav said…

It might be becoz of me…. He heard Nikhil and gave a confused look…

What do you mean…

I didn’t knew Khushi would be there in store room.. I had gone there to check some files which had old records when I saw her clutching Sheetals photo n crying… she felt some ones presence and turned behind and saw me…

There was a painful and horrifying expression on her face.. I didn’t knew what to do at that time… all I thought and felt is to say sorry to her and I said sorry for everything which had happened as I was also a reason to it.. I couldn’t wait to see her tears and left from there….said Nikhil with guilt on his face… I am sorry Arnav how much ever I try I can’t repent enough for what I have done…

Arnav didn’t say anything as he himself was under distress…

MMmmm… He heard Khushi and realized she was gaining consciousness.. he ran to her and knelt down beside the couch…

Khushi.. Khushi its me Arnav.. he said trying to wake her and finally she opened her eyes…

Arnav… she looked at him and he felt like he could breathe finally.. Seeing her lying unconscious was killing him inside…

She tried to sit and he helped her by holding her shoulders… suddenly she felt him hugging her tight…

You literally killed me dammit, all this while… you don’t know what was going inside me… I was not able to breathe… he said still hugging her… I thought I… he was not able to get words to express his panic state that he felt sometime back

I am sorry Arnav… I… I worried you all… I couldn’t control when I saw di’s pics… she said still being in is arms…. but I promise.. I will not let this happen again…

He pulled back to see her face…. She smiled at him and he felt his world brightening up with her one smile..

I am trying to move on Arnav and I promise from today onwards I will never cry thinking about Di… She will always be in my good memories…

Promise..? Arnav asked while cupping her face and she nodded assuring him…..

Khushi… he paused taking her hands in his… I know you can never forget Sheetal but thinking and crying about her absence in your life is taking a toll on your health… you know it took a lot for you to recover… please don’t let this effect you again.. I.. he gulped…I wont be able to take it.. atleast for my sake for the people who love you.. you have to try to be happy..

I understand Arnav.. she nodded.. trust me I will be fine… she said while pressing his hands assuring him… suddenly they realized that they had audience and she noticed Lavanya and Aman’s presence…

Lav…. I am fine trust me she said looking at a teary Lavanya and Lavanya just ran to embrace her… Khushi… kyon karti ho aisa… why do you do this always getting us all worried… please dear take care of your health.. you have just recovered from a trauma and you are still going into the same path why?? Lavanya asked complaining…

Khushi pulled back and smiled at Lavanya… maine kaha na… I will be fine.. this is the last time I will be reacting this way… trust me I won’t worry you all in future… anyways.. we have lots of work to do… next week its your wedding and later we need to travel to Dubai for new office isn’t it? Khushi asked changing the topic and Lavanya nodded with a smile…

I don’t want to miss anything on your wedding.. I want to make it memorable for you said khushi with smile giving a tight hug to Lavanya.

Arnav sighed… she is fine now.. she is fine now… he said more to himself, but couldn’t ignore her words she spoke to Lavanya..

She wants to make Lavanya’s wedding memorable… but what about her… has she ever thought about her happiness? He closed his eyes…

Now is the time Khushi… its time for you to think about your happiness… share your happiness with everyone and I promise I will make that happen and this time… you cannot stop me.. he thought to himself.

Lavanya had decided that Khushi will stay with her till the time she and NK get married… though Arnav was little fussy thinking about the recent incident… Khushi insisted on staying with Lavanya.. in a way he was relaxed as that now he can plan what he has thought in his mind.

NK had come down to Raizada house to meet everyone as Manorama had called him for dinner… Lavanya and Khushi didn’t join making reason for the huge list of shopping they had to do for the wedding.

NK beta how are the preparations going on.. Mamaji asked… its going good maasaji…. Though Lavanya had insisted for a simple wedding MOM convinced her otherwise and Khushi added to it saying that weddings should be always a memorable one…

In fact Khushi is more excited about our wedding than Lavanya.. its like she has gained back the lost charm.. said NK thinking about the last few days where in he saw Khushi in a fully chirpy mode for the first time….

He looked at Arnav who was lost in deep thoughts….

Arnav what happened what you are thinking asked NK…. Arnav took a deep breath and declared…. I am gonna marry Khushi NK… before the Dubai event gets launched…ge declared

The spoon from which he was eating fell from his hands on hearing what Arnav said… everyone was in shock.. its not that they didn’t see it coming.. but so soon it will happen they were not sure about it.

Arnav… what… I mean did you speak to Khushi about it…? Nope….Arnav said continuing eating…

Arnav… Payal called him…. Don’t you think it’s a bit early… I mean are you sure she won’t have an objection….?

I am not asking her permission this time Bhabhi…

What….? Nk said in confusion… what do you mean? You are not gonna ask her….

I am gonna tell her NK…. Last time I asked her she shooed me away.. Making me a sacrificial goat… this time I am not gonna give her that option…

Common Arnav you cant force your decision on her Aakash said in exasperation… She is not gonna agree..

And then what Bhai… is she gonna live like this always… getting happiness from others celebration and forever forgetting about her own life… Its high time she accepts that she has a right to be happy.. and…. He gulped… there is this crazy man who has been waiting for her from forever… she cant keep me away from her anymore.. I will make sure of that… saying so he left from the dinner table…

NK knows Arnav is not wrong in his thoughts but… he has to talk to him…he decided

From when did you started asking my permission NK.. Arnav said smiling…

Pata nahi Sher ke muuh mein haath daalne jaa raha hoon poochna toho padega na….said Nk smiling

Like never been before… I will not let her go this time NK.. and the more I am delaying it the more she is stuck in past…. She has to have a beautiful present to forget her painful past and that can only happen with love.. I know she will resist throw a fit but this time she cant deny me… and she knows that..

So you are gonna take advantage of that fact Arnav?

I have to… years back she took advantage of my love for her… this time I will do that.. but only for her happiness… our happiness…

NK smiled… Ok dude I am with you…

Arnav gave an evil smirk… in a way and a place where she cannot deny…

Means…. Nk asked getting confused and then put 2 and 2 together….. he was shocked… No man… on my wedding day? He asked

And what if she denies…..Nk asked in a teasing way…

Woh mana nahi karegi… she wont dare… smirked Arnav…

I like your confidence dude…. But zara sambhal ke… its Khushi you are dealing with… NK said with a smile.

Arnav nodded lost in his thoughts…. No Khushi this time I am not giving you a chance to deny… last time you had broken my heart into million pieces that it took years for me to revive… not this time.

Lavanya had moved into NK’s guest house on NK’s insistence, though his family had complained about it as they wanted her to stay with them.. she had her own beliefs and didn’t wanted to stay in her new house before the wedding.. its not that she is superstitious but she wanted to wait for the moment to come when she will start a new life with him…

And since then Khushi and Lavanya had been staying in the guest house Khushi had moved her stuff that is required to Lavanyas place, she could finally breath.. being in his house in such close confines was making her jittery… though she can never deny the fact that she missed his family… in these few days she had come to loving them and was kind of getting used to the warmth she had never received in her entire life…

But still she was relaxed as she doesn’t have to be in his radar atleast for few days.. she had even taken leave on context of Lavanya’s wedding..

NK’s family too received her with all the love they had and were happy that Lavanya had Khushi by her side as a family member during the wedding preparations. Days were totally tied up with both the girls visiting various boutiques to shop all that is required for the wedding and nights were always eventful with chips coke and late night movies… NK too used to join sometimes and it was in those times she used to feel that she is becoming a hindrance in their private moments to which NK used to bash her…

It was one such day NK said…Khushi… please don’t you dare think like that.. you don’t how happy I am that you are there with Lav… when she was asked to move into guest house I was really worried that how she will manage alone.. its not that she is not used to staying alone.. but still all these arrangements and everything and she will not even allow me to help… atleast she has you by her side and regarding you being an obstacle in our private moments.. you should know how engrossed Lavanya is when it comes to movies… forget about private moments she will not even allow me to breath thinking that it can cut the flow of the movie… to that Khushi laughed like anything…. Seeing her laughing like a child brought smiles on NK and Lavanayas face…. Its been so long she had laughed like that….

There was one more person who was enjoying the view and that was none other than Arnav.. who was seeing his love laughing whole heartedly.. an unknown longing developed in his heart… I will make sure this smile never leaves you Khushi he said to himself…

Khushi… you look good when you laugh… NK said… to which she became quiet… yes she forgot the surroundings… its been long she has laughed like that… she gave a hesitant smile when she heard him….

I second that NK…. She really looks beautiful when she smiles….

I… I will see whether the dinner is ready saying so Khushi left to kitchen…not wanting to continue the conversation. She held the slab tightly in her hands.. all these days she was so relaxed that she didn’t see him… it had been easy for her , though she cant deny that somewhere in her heart and mind she wanted to see him… but she gave a rest to those thoughts…

Why did you run away from there… I will not bite you.. she jumped at his voice… god Arnav why are you stalking me … she said in irritation and started heating the food.

What to do you decided to keep me away from you.. I had to stalk you.. you know… common I am seeing you after so many days atleast you can give me that beautiful smile of yours….are you not happy to see me? He asked with a smirk…

Stop flattering yourself Arnav… I am not dying here to see you.. Besides I am here for a reason… Lavanya needs me…

That’s the reason I let you go… he came closer… if it was any other reason.. I would have ensured you don’t get a chance to keep distance between us… he said in a husky voice..

Stop it Arnav… she said pushing him aside….we are not adolescent teenagers for you to flirt with me … he didn’t leave at that and grabbed her to him… why? Does it affect you when I flirt… he said smiling… his close proximity was bothering her… leave me Arnav…. She said wriggling in his arms…

I love it when you call me by my name... say my name... he said blowing on her fringes that were bothering her..

Arnav please… behave… I don’t like all this.. can you just keep distance.. she said looking into his eyes… her eyes challenging him….

No…. I can’t... I will not…. There is no way I let this distance come between us.. you better make a note of that.. saying so he left her to herself…

She sighed… how will I escape all this… why cant he understand.. its not that easy as he thinks..

She couldn’t find Lavanya anywhere, dinner was ready.. she went in search of lavanya and was just about to enter her room when she halted her steps…. She didn’t wanted to intrude but it looked so lovely and soothing to her eyes… NK was making lavanya wear a solitaire pendant chain…

NK… what’s the need.. You know I don’t go for material things.. You are in my life that’s enough for me… she said looking into the mirror..

I know sweetheart… but let me just pamper you for my own happiness… I had eyes on this since long but couldn’t get time to buy… but today I took out time to buy it for you… it looks beautiful on your neck.. he said while giving a moist kiss on her neck…she pat his hands.. control NK the door is open.. Khushi just hid behind not wanting to be spotted but she didn’t want to leave either as the scene was too overwhelming for her…

Thanks Lav… for coming into my life and making it beautiful… I should say thanks to you NK she said turning around and facing him… you never gave up on me.. She said with moist eyes… I know you wanted for us to get married but still when I asked you time you gave it to me… we had our fights during the case but you never questioned me on my judgements… thanks NK for understanding me..

How could I not understand you…. He sighed and wrapped his hands on her waist… you were always there for your friend Lavanya…. She needed you I knew that and hence I respected your decision… you too never gave up on Khushi and that’s what made me fall for you more.. when there was no one to take care of her in her shattered phase.. You ensured that you were there... For days you just used to go Shimla like a mad fool even though you knew Khushi was not responding to you… still you went… sat with her.. talked to her and I think in a way it helped her to stay alive…How could I not support you when you didn’t even think about your job, our relation and just went and been there for her….

You are the best friend anyone could have and I am lucky to have you as my partner…

She smiled and started thinking… I did it for two people NK… its not that my love for khushi was any less.. But still once.. she gulped… once when Sheetal had casually said… may be at that time she was going through all that hell.. Now I can relate, but that time I had scolded her for all that she had said…

Nk looked at her with confused expression… she had asked me to take care of Khushi… I remember her words, ‘’Lavanya in future if any day any time if I am not there promise me that you will always be there for Khushi… sheetal what’s wrong with you… you are talking rubbish what will happen to you… No lavanya please for my sake promise me.. she don’t have anyone else in this world other than me… you.. you should always be there for her… OK OK.. I don’t know what’s wrong with you but I promise I will always be there for her.. ok .. happy? Thanks Lavanya’’…

Hey.. you are crying.. Nk said wiping her tears… No I’m fine… I just remembered her words…. I did it for Sheetal and.. Arnav…. I had seen him destroying himself post the case… I knew though he had cut off ties with Khushi he was not happy and going through hell… When I saw Khushi in that state I thought I have to bring her back… for Arnav.. as I knew they are miserable without each other…

Bas..bas…. NK said giving a tight hug.. No more crying... They both are in a better place and will be happy in future…

Khushi controlled her sobs by covering her mouth…. She felt a hand on her shoulder and knew who it was… we can have the same happiness in our life Khushi… if only you step forward and accept it… she turned around in shock….she didn’t say anything… tell them that food is ready saying so she ran away…

Hi all… today is the happiest day in my life because of two reasons… one my two best friends Nk and Lavanya are getting married and two… I have decided to move on in my life and accept happiness.

Those who know me closely know that I was not in a better place few years back but now I have decided that life doesn’t give second chance to anyone.. but it has given to me… and I am gonna accept this chance with open arms…

He looked behind to see a confused Khushi…

Khushi.. he called… can you come here in the front.. he asked…

She was nervous.. what the hell is Arnav planning to do.. Why is he calling me…

Lavanya nudged Khushi.. Khushi go he is calling you… but why me Lav…

Khushi now is not the time.. Entire eyes are on you.. it will look bad if you don’t go.. common go… Lavanya said and crossed her fingers.. she knew what’s gonna come..

Khushi went ahead.. Arnav forwarded his hands towards her…. Hold my hands Khushi.. he asked..

But why? She asked in almost a feeble voice…

Because Iam saying so.. common give me your hands.. she knew everyone’s eye was on them.. she held his hand hesitantly…

Ok everyone… so as I said, life has given a second chance to me.. And she is standing beside me… My love my khushi… and we are gonna get married by next week….

She stilled in shock.. Her ears couldn’t believe it.. she could see the crowd murmuring… there was confusion.. suspicion.. Some were smiling.. some were confused and some were gossiping.. but only thing that was common was all the eyes were on them….

Khushi is still living in her past, Arnav wanted to help her to move on from it. She need not forget Sheethal who had been a sister by heart and stood by her in all ups and downs but she needs to forget the bad memories that ended with Sheethal's death and everyone had to go thru because of her one wrong decision in forcing Arnav to get married to Sheethal. From the talks between Lavanya and Sheethal, wondering was Sheethal planning to leave Arnav along with his child wanting Arnav to reunited with his love or is it just her sixth sense made her ask Lavanya to promise in taking care of Khushi even if she is not there. Though it might look like Arnav is forcing Khushi to get married to him while she is still hanging on to her past and feeling guilty for her actions, only that will help her to move on when she will see she too can have happily ever after and Sheethal will also want her to be happy always. Hope Khushi accepts Arnav's decision and not disappoint him in front of everyone because of her confused and guilty mind.
