•| One of His Kind
Long as you allow me, I shall be around. The moment you stop wanting me, I shall disappear. Regardless of your acceptance or denial, I shall always linger around, to shield you from getting torn apart by another Anurag Basu, to make sure that the little angel doesn't lose herself for someone like her father and ends up getting her heart scarred for life. Never. I would never let Sneha go through what her mother did. Sneha's mother was too blinded by her love to see the toxicity of her relationship within time but Sneha would get everything she deserves and Rishabh Bajaj would linger around to make sure she does.
She sat awestruck at the another letter he had penned down. Life truly could be unrealistically unpredictable at times, she thought. It had been quite a while since she had shifted to his place after his insistence. Despite her firm denial, he hadn't given up. Her inbox would have a message from him everyday. Just one. Perhaps, because he was willing to give her, her own and needed space.
She, surprising herself, had given in within two weeks. Being vulnerable enough to cry herself to sleep every night, had, perhaps broken her a little too much and so, when, a warm hand began approaching her cold and shaky one, giving it a stability, she couldn't resist for long.
For the first entire week, he would spend his most of the time in her room. She hadn't dared to ask him about his work. The duo would sit in silence if Sneha would be asleep but even his silent company was far more soothing to her aching soul than he would ever know.
Sneha's loud cry snapped Prerna out of her reverie and she instantly hid the letter under her pillow, knowing he would be there within two minutes and as expected, he had rushed into the room, lifting his tiny princess in his arms. As he cradled her closer, her cries replaced with giggles.
Prerna smiled, resting her head against the headboard as she adored the duo. He had left her amazed in the initial days the way he bonded to Sneha as quickly and smoothly as if he wasn't a stranger to her but family. The bond grew so strong that at times, Sneha would need him and only him to stop her tears. She would uncomfortably wiggle even in Prerna's arms and would start smiling the soon her arms were replaced with his.
But then, she would think, being surprised was foolish. She had seen the kind of a father he was to Cookie but with Sneha, she realized, he held genuine warmth inside him. Behind the mask of a ruthless business shark, was a doting father who would turn the world upside down for his kids' comfort.
His love for Sneha had always warmed her heart. He had been blessing her with all that he had got when her own father had disowned her. Mr. Bajaj was surely one of his kind.
